Why would anyone choose to do something drastic like become a king-god or kill everyone unless there's a drastic situation caused by other people in the world?

Would force the pagan traditional beliefs of people back onto them.

What I do definitely depends on the specifics of the powers given to me, but I'd definitely try to help people. Depending on how big an influence my powers could be, would determine if I reveal myself. I would only do it if I felt I had to explain why changes are happening.
