Monday after next is when I go back.
I've only got a couple semesters to go but it's rough going, has been for a while now.
I gave up making friends with roommates and live alone now.
Also have no friends in town so I get progressively more depressed as the semester drags on and gets more difficult.
Gonna try and make use of the counseling center this time around and see what comes of that.
Wish I could get a part time job and make friends through it but nobody will hire me.

Idk if itll help but I wish I had gotten involved in social clubs/sport as a way to meet people so maybe look into that and/or talking to people in tutorials. In my second semester now and its going alright but my course is boring as shit. Looking to move to another city and study a different course which I am pretty excited about. I was unable to get accepted to a true phd program so I'm doing this conditional phd thing where I have to pay for my first year and be evaluated to receive master's or continue as a phd candidate. Its so fucked up and I feel like shit. Its so disappointing and I feel bad for my parents. I could go straight into industry, but I tried it and did not enjoy it as much as research and academia. Yes, I have taught students who tried very hard but are just too stupid. However, in my experience the stupid kids always think they are smart but the material is hard. People who think they are stupid but the material is easy, those are the ones with real talent.

On that note, there are people with natural talent. Talent alone does not get you success though. However, to be a top student in math you need near-religious determination and will. You have to breath math on a daily basis. This is what I do on a daily basis. To illustrate my point: I graduated with Honors in Mathematics in only 3 years. I needed to wake up every day and read wikipedia and math books for at least 2 hours on top of regular work to achieve this.

After a while, there was no pain in working, just my regular routine.
