Doesn't feel like it though for me. It feels as far away as when sixth form broke up 2 months ago. Hope I get in to my firm. Apparently 60% of people got into their firm last year which is a lot lower than I would have thought.

Hope you all get the grades you want. Tell us where you're going and what you'll be studying. Or will you be joining the ranks of the noble NEETs?

Sleeping with another person probably isn't as great as you imagine it to be. I've heard that adults who sleep with each other have less room relative to their body size than babies in a cot. You'd also have to be really careful to not move too much and make noise. Doesn't sound comfy at all tbqh

I never do, although I sometimes phonelurk to clear the backlog when I get a few minutes. Having no phone battery for 2 weeks was a nuisance when I came home to a 500-900 post backlog. I can't understand how people phone post full time, it's so awkward/uncomfortable. I maybe do it once a month if that and I detest it.

I wanted to go so bad.

Maybe it's not final yet. They said to send them my UMS marks if I missed the offer. I even sent in an extenuating circumstances form but it arrived after the date it says UCAS updated, so I'm assuming they haven't considered it. So maybe they will?

Please, tell me there's a fucking chance. Everyone's expecting me to go to Cambridge. How can I tell my mother I didn't get in?

On the verge of tears here, haha
>>
So, I got it. A*AA.

Going to Oxford lads. PPE at Balliol.
>>
>Dear Anon,

>Thanks for getting in touch. I'm afraid that your grades did not meet the requirements of the offer made in January. The next steps for you would be to collect your results and discuss whether you wish to pursue re-marks. If your re-marks come through before the 31st August with you meeting the offer conditions as stated in your offer letter than your place at Cambridge is confirmed but I'm afraid that otherwise your application is unsuccessful. We took all available information into account when we made the decision, including the pending extenuating circumstances form, but unfortunately we were not able to waive the conditions of your offer.

I said I attempted suicide in that extenuating circumstances form. So how bad did I fuck up my exams that even that didn't help make them lenient? Seriously, how bad did I fuck them up? I got literal full marks in my coursework too, so I must have done really, really badly.

Just lied and told my mother that Track still hasn't updated. What am I going to do?

>Will you be happy with NEET life?
Maybe. It has actually appealed to me. I don't think I will ever, ever be able to become a normie.

I need to think. Please help me lads, I can't do it myself, I'm not thinking straight.

So, I've not met the grades for my firm choice. I have met the grades for my insurance. So the question is, should I actually go to my insurance?

First of all, I will of course send for remarks, and if the fucking lord has mercy on me they'll come back meeting the conditions of my firm and everything will be lovely and I won't want to kms anymore. But if not, what should I do?

My options are either be a NEET or go to insurance. I don't know what to do. I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm scared of the debt, I'm scared going to uni, I'm scared I won't get a job. I'm scared.

Maybe I could defer for a year, give being a NEET a go but can still go to uni the next year if I want to. Is that a good idea, or a stupid one?

Tripping because I'll update later about what my grades actually were and what's happening. I needed A*AA

Yeah, but you can't get into those jobs with just a degree. It's harder than that. You need connections and/or to do a load of unpaid internships.
>>

i never revised for any exams. i figured if the info i needed wasn't already in my brain, i wasnt smart enough to pass.
>>
I sort of want to get back into education.

There's a bit of a problem though.

When I did my GCSE's years ago (these are my only qualifications currently) I never ever revised, I just sailed through school playing video games without thinking about my future like a retard. As a result when I did my exams I didn't do very well, I did however get a bunch of C's and its enough for me to enter further education.

The problem is, if I've never revised or studied before, how do I know what my potential is? Is getting a C with no revision about right for GCSE? Would it have been higher with several hours of study a day and actually caring?

Graphic design yeah. But you don't need a media studies degree to work in the media. Most of the people I know who work in the media studied something totally different.
>>
>>39125357
There is no hard rule really. It's down to the individual. I never studied for GCSE's and got A's, B's and C's. Got all C's at A level without revision.

If you're a bit older, and ready to take academics seriously, you can probably do better. Some people can do nothing/little and coast, some can't.

All this exam talk has got me thinking about how I really messed up my education.

I was so mentally fucked at the time that I never even found out my A-Level results. Literally don't even know what I got.

Is 26 too old to retake Alevels? Would I have to sit in a class of 17year olds or are there other options? I think education might be my only option that's not suicide.
>>
>>39125487
>Is 26 too old to retake Alevels?
I remember seeing a middle-aged man taking maths GCSE in our exam hall. So no, it's not too old.

Is it essential? Certainly not.

But it's an excellent choice at bachelors if you see your future in arts/media.

Amnesia? Smoking the exact same stuff if it is!

How you smoking? I've been vaping for a while but got a real hankering for a spliff, gonna go buy some fags and riz after my coffee.
>>
>>39125509
I disagree. If you want to get into TV, for example, the best thing to do is just get runners jobs on productions and work your way up. You'll have to do that after uni anyway, so why waste the 3 years?

If you want to be a journalist, you're far better off studying journalism.

I can't think of a single job where studying media studies would be the best choice. Can you?
>>
>>39125526

the darknet is great when you find the right vendor
>>
>>39125532
It was 100 plus 3.50 for shipping.

Here are the steps.

>Download Tor Browser from the Tor Project website
>Download PGP software. I use GPG Suite for Mac, you'll need something different for windows.
>Go to Reddit.com/r/darknetmarkets and go to the market superlist, get the URL for Dream Market.
>Open your Tor Browser. Put in the URL for Dream Market. Sign up and then find something you want to buy.
>Go to Local Bitcoins. Find a guy selling Bitcoins who accepts bank transfers.
>Transfer him the money.
>Once he's unlocked the Bitcoins, send them to your Dream Market account
>Take the Vendor's public PGP key, import it into your PGP software, and then encrypt your address.
>Order what you want, send the vendor your encrypted address.

>>39125533
With the amount I smoked as a teenager, if you could get that, I'd have an A*.

>>39125547
It's actually S5 Haze. I'd never heard of it before and there's not much information about it online, but it's fucking great. Big fan of Amnesia too though. Usually smoke it though a pipe, sometimes roll a spliff if I've got company over. Never really liked a vape but maybe I've never had a good one. Heard some good things about the expensive ones. Which one do you have?
>>
>>39125559

As the best choice for a particular career path?
Umm I probably can't, no.

But that doesn't mean that it's not a useful degree. It opens up production work, advertising, copywriting, event management, research in various genres and, (I'm told) ergonomic interface design. None of them perhaps ideally but to a greater degree than say, a humanities degree which would also be applicable for some of the above.

It's a typical man in the pub target for derision but is realistically a more "useful" degree choice than many more publicly accepted schools. We do not live in the society that a lot of people think we do.
>>
>>39125613
Ah never heard of S5, sure you can't go wrong with any variant though.

I've got an Arizer Solo, with an "aftermarket" stem, pulls great, tastes nice, definitely recommend, but I paid 50quid less than retail so mayyybe wouldn't have paid retail. Infinitely better than a magic flight box or whatever.

I've got a budbomb pipe somewhere too, bought it and never used it for some reason.
>>
>>39125667
>advertising, copywriting,

Not arguing with the rest of what you're saying, because I honestly don't know, but I haven't met a single soul in the advertising industry who studied media studies. Obviously I haven't met everyone but it's definitely not a common way into the industry.
>>
>>39125723

Have you met the Mrs? Not even joking, although she was really not long in the industry.
>>
>>39125699
Yeah S5 the business. Not too strong or mindbending. Just really clean, energetic and pleasant. You don't hear about it much because it's clone only.

If I could find a vape like that for 50 quid off I'd probably pick it up myself.

I just usually go for a cheap pipe. I hate cleaning the fucking things so I'll just buy one for a tenner and then chuck it after a few months.

MEME

1. an element of a culture or system of behaviour passed from one individual to another by imitation or other non-genetic means.

2. an image, video, piece of text, etc., typically humorous in nature, that is copied and spread rapidly by Internet users, often with slight variations.
