Used to go on /b/ and /pol/ but migrated to here and /his/, purely based on the fact they both have much better quality content posted than the last two that have really badly degenerated.

I feel you on /b/. There used to be lots of oc and actual new shit going on there. The periodic raids they did were also pretty fun. Now it's just a porn board, before that I think it was the #1 normie board but now /pol/ has taken its place. I never really went to /pol/ back in the day but it's kinda annoying seeing people talk about it literally everywhere these days so I assume it's even shittier than it used to be.

When this happened and I started getting sick of my boards I kinda stopped going on 4chan for awhile and also had a safety net of quality FB meme pages that were far from normie. Now meme pages get political af one way or another so they aren't even good anymore.

/b/ became unironically cancer. Banana memes that fucking dog, dubs decides what I say threads 247, half of them fake, all of them with faggot ops who didn't deliver. That's the last I saw of it.
The last happening I remember from there was that guy who killed some woman and posted pics.

/tv/ is just got and rick n morty memes always and forever. And kino threads. Boring except for discussing those specific shows.

/v/ is unrecognizable to me. Dunno if I've fallen out of gaming or if gaming really is this shitty now but I've no reason to go there anymore.

/s4s/ was ruined by knowyourmeme. Since it credits almost every meme to them it got shitted up by Normans.

/pol/ is too active for any real discussion to take place. It's like a crowded room where everyone talks at the same time. You might pick up something interesting but you'll soon lose it in the chaos.

/r9k/ is ok imo. Just less of us around with each passing year. Godwilling the millennials will be the peak generation for this existence. And as guys make it or an hero the true weirdo population goes down. It's getting turned into a Tfw I feel that feel board and less of a Tfw no gf board. Still nowhere near as bad as it was at peak frog posting times a few years back.

I used to go on /v/, /tv/ and /r9k/ a lot but they've all kinda just degraded as has the site in general but there's nowhere else that I actually like going so I stick around. These days I basically just stick to /vg/, /trash/, /w/ and /wg/. I still come here to /r9k/ at least once a day but it's mainly just to look for threads that are actually worthwhile.

Facebook meme pages are the only thing why I still visit the site, but most of them are as you say, get political. This leads to the louder right winger pages who collect enough bad boy points being blocked one after another, meaning that out of the 100+ pages you don't even know which one got zucced. Either they back it up as "Maymay Mayhem 2: Electric Boogaloo", or the admin gives up after multiple tries, and losing thousands of likers.
Another illness is turning into a 300-400k+ page posting normie shit memes, comment filled with normie stacies commenting LMAO ITS YOU [Chad] under every post. Sometimes they just simply sellout, or get hacked, becoming a clickbait posting fuckhole.
Under 100k pages are usually the best, above that only aesthetic posting, and some rare cases still retain quality.

As of 4chan, I'm mostly on r9k, but the norman flood is becoming unbearable by the day, see the "I'm a fembot who's married with kids and a normie life" thread from yesterday.

We need to create another imageboard, just it

/x/ used to be comfy storytelling and thought provoking topics. Modern /x/ has somehow become flooded with christfags. The only threads that arent that are stupid shit like some wuss had a bad trip or a nightmare, or some schizo thinks they have magic powers. It's all attention hungry narcissists, idiots, and brainwashed religious faggots.

It's not just /x/. Current 4chan in general is pretty shit but what the fuck else am I supposed to look at on this stupid new internet.

I go on /lit/. I'm new and I'm only 18 so it's harder to take part in the jokes and conversations but it's generally pretty good and even funny at times once I clued into the typical board exclusive jokes.

I go on /r9k/ for the interesting and thought provoking threads but there's been some weird shit on here recently so I've only just come back after a break to see what's up.

/co/ is okay but I'm more of a comics enthusiast so it's not a board I take super amounts of interest in.

/mu/ and /fa/ are both kinda boring but that's just because my personal taste doesn't align with the hive mind

My main boards used to be /sp/, /mu/, and /ck/, but I'd at least peek at the majority of boards once in a while. At this point I've resigned myself to slower, more niche boards, even if I'm not particularly interested in the subject matter. The level of discourse, while usually not great, is still worlds better than actual popular boards.

And 4/pol/ has been 100% spam and memes since the election. There's so many newfags that instead of lurking and becoming NatSoc they form their own cliques. The libertarians, the Christians, the conservatives, all of these groups demand a slice of a pie they did nothing to make. Any internal discussion is practically impossible as there will always be that one person who is super zealous about his beliefs, and absolutely must reply if your post offended his beliefs in any way - even if it's completely irrelevant to the conversation. Worse yet, when you try to call attention to the issue there will be two replies received: one calling you a D&C shill, and the other lambasting you for "wanting a hugbox." (Even if you're in a threat devoting to your specific subject, such at /nsg/) Now don't get me wrong. Discussion with other beliefs is important. Napoleon's saying "never fight with the same enemy too often, or else he will learn all of your art of war" is very relevant. Engaging with other groups teaches us plenty about them, and they're usually too stubborn to learn about us outside of attempts at making snide remarks.

Places like Ironmarch are probably good for speaking to people who actually fucking know the ideology they espouse, but using any named forum gives risk to doxing. It makes you a much bigger target. But at the same time /pol/ boards seem to degenerate naturally as it begins to appeal to the lowest common denominator, and then the only way to ever form a majority opinion on an issue is to appeal to the very cliques I spoke of earlier.

Might as well vent while I'm here.

I've browsed /wooo/ over on 420chan for years; as a fan of the imageboard format, it was the best place online to discuss pro wrestling, while being out of the way enough to steer clear of the more negative aspects of chan culture. Once Hiro kicked wrestling threads off of /sp/, they took over /asp/ and built up a community over there. Unfortunately, this naturally led to /asp/ies drifting over to /wooo/ who didn't (and still don't) understand or care for that board's more serious, on-topic culture. Things are starting to normalize a bit, and /asp/ has honestly slightly improved as well from when I first started noticing the influx, but prime /wooo/ is definitely a thing of the past now. Watching a change in the composition of an internet community in real time was an interesting sociological case study, at least.

/b/ - Used to be my main board I went to before I found my home here. There used to be actual good threads there at some point but all it seems to consist of now is pics you shouldn't share/facebook faps. It's pretty depressing seeing the shit it is, when I go back there

/x/ - I only went here occasionally for the wikipedia threads but aside from the sticky, there seems to be non of that anymore

/pol/ - Used to be quite good but it's being invaded slowly by edgy left/right anarchyfags. Brit/pol/ is alright, just about, but it's become a tripfag penis measuring contest mostly. That said some of the tripfags do actually contribute but others trip for no reason at all.

/g/ - Only been going here a while but even in the short time I've noticed an increase in windows a shit/install gentoo shitposting and it just shits on the board quality.
