This was me, my family were immigrants but made good income. They really didnt want to get robbed/have me put into danger (even though my school although public was in a decent income neighborhood), so I often went to school with ill fitting clothes with holes and I avoided talking about their careers and very rarely had friends over. I had an alright amount of friends because I was a pretty alright person.
In the end though, i guess it taught me how to live frugally, which helps me currently in uni.
