This is pretty much how I justify living in misery, I believe that because of free will, each choice you make no matter how minor causes an alternate version of yourself where you chose not to make that decision or chose differently. In this reality I am a piece of garbage but there are realities where I am a superhero, a professional athlete, a billionaire, any possibility you could think of. Countless options creating a near infinite number of different (you)'s.

Also if you die in this reality your soul or however your religion would describe it shifts to the closest possible reality. This is often misunderstood to be the Mandela effect, but the reality is sometimes you cant find the perfect reality with no changes, sometimes you need to settle.
