And one qualm I have with the nurture argument is that the "fucked up" childhoods of these killers, mass and serial, tend to not be uncommon. Plenty of people go through similar rough upbringings, yet don't go on to make sex zombies or what have you. From where I stand, you have to be born with a predilection for these kinds of behaviors to go on to become a real monster, with some exceptions to this obviously.

What I tried to say with the first few sentences is that people with said predilection need extra care than other people do during their upbringing and when they get it they will be less likely to be Dahmers, Waynes and Bundys when they become adults. They definitely are born much more inclined toward certain behaviors than the average person but, except in special cases, I don't think we can accurately say that having the wrong set of genes means you have to become an evil person and that there's no way around it.
