I did this for a while, realized it was holding me back from pursuing my dreams because the diluted gratification you receive from imagining your goals achieved is intoxicating. I think its fine to imagine what you want, but slipping into a fantasy world where what you want is what you have made me lose motivation to improve my real life. It will if he doesn't change his ways and try to put himself out there. I am in the same shoes as that guy and I still have hope at 22. 22 is getting close, but there's still hope. Can't say I know what his situation is, but I've come to the realization myself that I need to change or remain unhappy and I am making changes. Then again, I am lucky enough to say all I really need to do is be more social and that's about it considering I am fairly well off in other areas and being social isn't hard for me. I'm just too lazy to make an effort, but when I do, I can hold my own anywhere.

Yep. I'm a car guy and I spend most of my time daydreaming either racing or having enough money (winning the lottery) to own several cars and perhaps my own race track.

I do the closest thing I can do by delivering pizzas, where I can drive on my favorite roads in the area; I usually daydream while I'm driving and I used to amaze myself how I'm still able to drive when my I'm focused on my fantasies, which I'll enhance by playing music.

That's not a canned answer, I'm really just interested in all types of things. If I started producing music my monicker would likely be some pun about being a jack of all trades or something.

If I had to describe what I'm interested in I'd say "conceptual", I'm just not really interested in something that's just "music", I need some kind of angle.

For a long time I was really into IDM and it's the kind of music I wanted to make but it's a bit different now. Nowadays I really want to take advantage of the current cultural spectrum. I want to make pop and hip-hop and cultivate something original.

I mainly focus on hip hop and rap, my favorite genres being cloud rap (i.e. Yung Lean, Ecco2k, etc.) and emo/scream rap (i.e. smrtdeath, xxxtentacion, scarlxrd, etc), but I love all channels of the broader genre. Everything from mainstream acts like Migos, Kendrick, and Yachty, to underground acts like Kevin Pollari and Xavier Wulf, to older stuff like Kool Keith and Bone Thugs. There isn't a subgenre that I don't fuck with.

That being said, it's more than just the music that inspires me and drives me. I drive towards a certain type of high-fashion aesthetic. That is why I relate extremely heavily to artists like A$AP Rocky and even more so with Ecco2k, Bladee, and Thaiboy Digital. The aesthetic is half of the picture.

As for other genres besides hip hop and rap, I listen to vaporwave, Death Grips, lo-fi instrumentals and samples, a little rock (Cake, My Morning Jacket), some hardcore techno and hardstyle with an emphasis on what I would call happy hardcore (think DJ S3RL), and things I don't know how to categorize like Boards of Canada, Chvrches, hypercaste, and many others.

I listen to song and imagine some world changing even where certain people are imbued with powerful forces representing concepts.
I would be one of the chosen and I would be imbued with the force representing the nature and power of the north american continent as well as it's native people. I would appear in a femanine form but large, in between 6 and 7 feet tall but still femanine but lithe and powerful. I imagine my outfit. I would wear sandals and have decorative wear and bracelets and I would be a loner and avoid civilization and keep to nature. Some would choose to worship me and I would have scuffles with other avatars representing things like industry and stuff. I also like to imagine specific acts like catching someone intruding on my forests and wilderness and tracking them and appearing before them as a avatar of wild magics and raw power of nature.
I imagine fighting an especially aggresive avatar and unleashing more power and turning into an enourmous bird made of energy and controlling the local weather and scarring the landscape with our battle.
