Anyone here regret having unsupervised access to the internet

Honestly, the internet and games are probably the reason I am so socially stunted. I remember when I was in high-school, I'd spend entire summers/breaks inside playing games and browsing imageboards. I would only come out around 8PM or so to do weights and run.

A lack of a regular father figure and watching porn from a young age completely fucked with my head. I don't blame my Mom though, she did the best she could.

I regret not having it actually. I wasnt allowed to use a computer unsupervised from 8th grade until i was 18. I would just sit on my bed and stare at the wall because there wasnt anythign else to do. anything that involved other people had an online element i couldnt access and i wasnt allowed to go to the library.

I resent not being allowed more access to the internet. When I was 15 the parents took away computer and internet access away, making it very clear it wasn't for punishment and they wanted me to live in the real world. They forgot that dial-up was my only connection to the real world and we lived on a dirt road with the nearest neighbor being almost 70 years old and 2 miles away. Home schooled too, and before smartphones were invented. Basically I fucked around in the woods and begged for books every Sunday we went to church.

I've had 8+ hours of screen time a day since I was 7 or so. I turned out okay, probably starting my PhD next year. I turned out okay, except I am a bit socially maladjusted for obvious reasons and have no gf and post on /r9k/ etc.

But, I don't beat myself up too much over it, womens' stnadrds are impossibly high nowadays.

yes, it will be very interesting now that parents actually know what the internet is and how it works. My parents got me a laptop for my birthday "for school work" and used to proudly make me show their boomer friends online Encyclopedia. They genuinely thought I was gonna b a gud boi who used the complete access to knowledge for good. Instead I:
