I'd be sad knowing that people who live joyful, robust lives would be consumed in nuclear fire. But then I think back to the great pessimists and realize they'd be spared the suffering in inherent in a normal life. No more hunger, or lust, or ennui, and no graceless death in a hot nursing home that reeks like shit. No sucking on tubes and morphine drips, bad daytime television, always being afraid and confused. No having to watch everybody they cared about die one by one, they'll all go at once
