My mom got a new kitten and i told her multiple times that i didn't want to take care of her. No when we got the kitten my mom is never home and leaves me "missions" to look after our cats so they get along, feed her and play with her, she says the kitten needs to play a lot when it's young.
why do roasties do this?

Honestly, you should take that as a cue to take a break. Pick them up, play with them, they'll tire out pretty quick. It'll give your eyes a rest and maybe foster some sense of caring about one another.
