I used to consider myself goth. So did my wife. It's too tiresome to be honest. We just like to wear dark muted colors and prefer not to prattle on about pop culture and stupid shit.

But being goth is pop culture now. We are displaced even in that group. Don't care about your favorite bands or your fashion or your poetry or your so-called art.
It doesn't matter. None of this matters. In the end you just end up mindlessly following. Just trying to be part of another crowd.
Methinks I would rather eternally be the odd man out than to tolerate the insipid whims of what popular opinions float about among any circles I run with.
