Why does nobody like death metal anymore?
>>38948848
I personally find black metal to be more interesting. The majority of black metal sucks, and most bands just copy off of each other. However I think from a conceptual standpoint, black metal is really interesting. It's one of the most challenging genres to get into, yet when not done in a gimmicky fashion, it is one of the most expressive, humanizing, and honest music genres ever.
The way black metal transitioned from thrash to a more atmospheric sound also is really cool. When a black metal band is innovative, I find it to be more mind blowing than when I stumble upon a great death metal album.
I do love MDM and symphonic variants of death metal though.

Nope. I like metal instrumentation but hate vocals in metal. Also black metal fans are insufferable. They're somehow more pretentious than inde rock hipsters
