10% isn't even that bad. But the fact is that eventually you realize that the whole game is pointless. The end game is almost ALWAYS PVP. Why do you run through Naxxramas to get your T3 set? Because you wanna be the best in PVP. Your ability in these games is 90% gear+RNG, and maybe 10% (if not less) actual skill.

Me and my brother played Toontown it was fucking great. The only problem was the monthly fee, we needed 60 day codes each so eventually I stopped but my brother played for a while.

I remember there was almost always so much stuff to do but there was no chat system.

I got Rivendare drop when it was 0.1% and one of the only mount drops in the game.

I used to run the dungeon with a girl I was friends with. At the end we would do a /roll and winner gets mount but we also chilled at the end of the runs and gambled a little money with /roll.

I couldnt sleep on christmas night so I did a run of the instance and got the drop. And the achievemtn was christmas too. She was jelous she ran it constantly.

I'm told Star Wars Galaxies was gud.

But I agree. They're like a job that doesn't pay. Instead of playing an MMORPG, I spent that time becoming a polyglot, fluent in EFIGS. I still play video games, just in moderation. They help me focus better. I've quit for consecutive months but I just found other ways to squander that time. There's only so much productivity I can do in a day before reaching a saturation point, and it happens faster without fun breaks.

MMOs aren't fun anymore because these days you can solo all the content without barely speaking to another player. LFG systems and the dumbing down of difficulty so you don't need well organized groups ruined MMOs. No longer will you wait outside of a dungeon for other people or meet new people to do stuff with. You just queue up the group finder and bam you're inside doing the dungeon without a word from anyone. Except to call each other bad occasionally.

I need a comfy game where I can play with people but all the MMOs are shit now
