a new experience

Write out the entire situation as it happened, I wanna know if it was warranted.

There was a large public gathering, i was with some friends, just listening to their conversation. I started loosing interest so i look around and there were some other people to my right, so i start listening to what they were talking about. Then the guy says its creepy that you're listening to us, then his mom, i assume, says yeah that is creepy.
So i put my hands up palms out, try to make myself shorter, apologized and started backing away slowly. Their mom? Laughed, patted my shoulder and said it was okay.

I hate people so much.

They didn't mean it deeply, that's why she patted you on the shoulder. But it is creepy. At least say something to them if you want to be a part of their conversation. Otherwise, you are eavesdropping, which is pretty socially unacceptable behavior. Next time, be more subtle with your eavesdropping.

I eavesdropped on these SJW black people who were arguing with each other the other day. They were standing in the street in line to get ice cream. I wanted to hear some of the memes IRL. Plus, I had been wanting to try the place's ice cream anyway. They actually ended apologizing to me that I had to overhear their argument (!), pretty much the opposite of calling me out on eavesdropping. Basically what I'm saying is that you need to get gud at being a creep.

It was a free speech march in portland, it was after the march everyone was talking about it and politics. I just wanted to listen to other peoples thoughts and opinions.

And that's just plain creepy, im supposed to talk over people and interject myself into their conversation.

So instead of being called a creep by a woman, which is normal to me, it was a guy.

This new experience has made the idea of sucking the bullet out of a gun barrel, possibly with the assistance of the cartridge propellant, more appealing than waking up in the morning.
