You know how it's very popular these days to give advice like "stop caring about what other people think bro"? That never helped me. We encourage each other to be more self-absorbed yet it doesn't seem like people are becoming happier.

Maybe it's backwards. We should stop caring so much about what we ourselves think. Just be dynamic, stay active, be curious about the world and forget about your shit as much as possible. It's all ego trash

Makes sense, I'm way too harsh on myself sometimes and it just feeds into a negative loop and then others pick up on it and then the interactions we have are generally negative then no one walks away happy. All because I'm being sad sack of self hate and contempt.
