This planet has a problem, which was this:
most of the people on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions are suggested for this problem. How do you suggest we make people happier?

By realizing that happiness isn't best in life. We only become stronger as individuals through hardship.

by trying to reduce the amount of individual suffering
Killing all women.
By reverting to hunting and gathering
>kill all unhappy people
>percentage of happy people goes up
It's that easy

Natural selection is the greatest justice system on earth. But it would be hard to go back to that.

this is unironically very correct and the reason why robots are such betas

But why is it important that we're strong, anon?
If we didn't have to suffer, we wouldn't have to be strong.

Christ man, don't you have any personal dignity?
Aren't you a man? Doesn't that mean something?
>>38895284
Dude if I could just strap myself into a box and be happy forever (or stop being a pussy and blow my fucking brains out) I'd do it in an instant.
"Dignity" and "Strength through hardship" are just bullshit justifications for suffering because people don't want to admit that it's needless and that life is horrid.

The premise is false
Most people have been happy, because despite all the hardships of life the main source of human happiness has always been other humans

Gonna add to this - happiness can be fleeting and ephemeral. I don't think it's happiness we're really looking for in life, but purpose and meaning.
Think about it. We can be happy at times even as robots; we play vidya and get drunk and shitpost and laugh from time to time. We're missing meaning, however; we're purposeless automatons. Much of the world is just so, even if they're happier on the surface, with on-again off-again friends, relationships that may or may not last, jobs that pay the bills but crush their souls. The world's lacking room and opportunity for meaning and purpose as we commoditize all aspects of life, and as a result we don't feel fulfilled.
