There has been a new slayer expansion and new slayer dungeon. You dont have to pick up the loot from the monsters there: it goes straight in one big loot chest and you cant sent it straight to the bank. This slayer expansion went together with the Menaphos update: a quite comfy city if you ask me.

I've been enjoying Albion Online recently.

It's like RuneScape meets EVE Online - tons of grinding, sitting in front of ore/trees and chilling, the usual RS stuff, but it also uses the "EVElike" mechanics of distance mattering - if you sell an item in Martlock, it can only be bought in Martlock. If you store it there in the bank, same - the banks aren't connected.

And you literally cannot make it between any of the major cities without passing through full-loot PvP areas.

So if you want a high quality ore native to Fort Sterling, and you're in Martlock, you'll only be able to buy it there for a price that's inflated by the travel costs. That guy probably brought it over with millions of silver worth of goods, and he could have lost it all, so that's worth something.

It's really fascinating, and it really feels like living in the RS Classic world again because of how retro and comfy it feels, with some extra changes that feel novel instead of gimmicky.

I started Albion 3 days ago. Been enjoying myself a lot.
Been specializing in making frost staves and stonecutting.
You actually can get to most cities through non-pvp zones by going around the coast, but you have to travel much farther.

Eh, yeah, I guess that's true, Caerleon is just so important that I usually assume you'll go through it for one reason or another on your way.

I'm in Crimson Brotherhood. It's an adults-only guild, which is really what I needed, because I discovered the reason other guilds were sucking for me is that I had to deal with all the occasional 16 year olds here and there to the point that I eventually felt too alienated by >kids these days.

These guys actually put in their guild description that they never expect you to be online a certain amount of time, kids in the background of your chats is fine, they understand you could totally have a very intense job or doctor's hours or whatever, etc. It's really refreshing.

I've been working on farm stuff. Trying to become a mount breeder. It's a bloody expensive effort, but it'll pay off eventually. Best part is that the higher tier horses take so long to mature that you only even have to check on them once every few days, so I don't have to give a shit.

With my actual active gameplay time I've been gathering stone and wood. I really need to start working on skinning so I can saddle my own horses, but I'm based in Martlock, so that'll slightly suck to train. Luckily I keep all my gear on my Island, so I never need to worry about any complications when popping back there naked to check on things.

Is Albion p2p, p2w? Is it worth?

Albion is p2p, but it's a one-time purchase. You can get a lot of ingame currency by paying real money, but you can't do much with it without putting in real time and leveling skills, so I wouldn't call it p2w.

P2P, and it does the RuneScape/Wildstar "Bonds" thing too, where you can turn either real money or ingame money into months of "premium"... which actually does surprisingly little.

It just speeds up gathering a little and lets you boost farm yield.
It's basically needed if you want to be any good at farming/livestock, but for all the hands-on jobs which make up 95% of the game, it is completely forgettable.

Just like in RS, people usually have one of two opinions - either "I don't need premium" or "Premium pays for itself lol, just use the ingame money you get from doing premium things to pay for the next month, duh." Nobody admits to paying for it in cash.

I tried to play it again but nobody talks anymore like they used to. Tried to pick up WoW after Legion for an MMO fix, but again, nobody communicates.
