Do you miss the early 2000s in some ways?
>anime no longer appears on television
early 2000's
>2001-2003
mid 2000's
>2004-2006
late 2000's
>2007-2009
2000 and 2010 are in their own category
same goes for every other decade
There's still Saturday morning cartoons on the cw but the after-school cartoons died with the change

I believe he's referring to the culture of the early 2000s lasting until 2006, rather than numerically

Fuck WB, I want FOxBox back.
>>38838323
You're relatively young, most people here remember Foxkids (pre--2002) more fondly than Fox box (post-2002 replacement)
>>38838342
I liked WB as well but FoxBox has a special place in my heart. I only saw Foxkids like once.Guess I'm gonna wait for my ban.
Pros

> poltards and sjws weren't around
>internet fads>memes
> j4chan B4 chanology raids was pretty damn good
>newgrounds and ytmnd was cash
>couldn't drive to 2006
>Highschool and HOMEWORK
>Couldn't drive around and chill with people easily
Cons
>Bush
>everyone was bitching about 9/11
>safety culture emerged from 9/11
>gas sky rocketed
>had to download EVERYTHING
>porn was hard to come by
It was alright
Why is "Last Episode of Will and Grace Airs" on there twice, or even at all?
>>38838123
>ps3/wii
>2000
>>38838323
>>38838460
>warm place in your heart for dubs
>4kids dubs at that
>watching dubs when you have limewire
>>38838123
Yeah, because there wasn't a never ending recession. The early 2000s where better because they where better. People where happier, wealthier, better sheltered, and had more opportunities.
Plus there was some really strange cultural shift from the mid 2000s to today. Kind of like how the early 70s had a weird shift from 50s culture to more recent.
>>38838605
The shift took place around 2007. The Big Bang Theory, smartphones, Great Recession, Democrat-controlled congress, etc.
>>38838574
I didn't know they trained weeaboos before they even came out of the womb.

>Ear worm techno songs with over the top auto tunning.
> Annoying Orange piorneering bad internet shows.
>Zingya starting the trend of making stealing a decent game. (Farm Town), plaugrizing it and making a shittier more P2W game (Farm Ville), then making varyations and re-releasing it every so often. (Yoville, and Farmville 2).
>Online gaming allows for devs to release expansion packs over the internet, this gets abused to make half-baked games at full price, and having to pay double for a decent quality game.
>Iron Man starts the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is the first superhero series.
>Shitty television shows such as Family guy soar in popularity, further lowering the bar for decent entertainment.
>Pop music tends to shift towards having an overall theme of pure decadence and degeneracy. Sure they have similar themes as the old hits: Love, Sex, Fun. But now they are more explicit and have no reservation.
>Viacom starts the trend of making copyright law be the most important set of laws in the eintrie universe.
>Obama and Hillary start proxy wars in the middle east further extending our unneccesary conflicts in the middle east to this very day. Actually they are mostly to blame for this migrant crisis in Europe.

>homework and not being able to travel easily is a good thing
>>38838759

>>38838734
I was 13 in 01'

I work at a US subsidary of a japanese game studio and have worked there as well.
Fuck off bop.
>>38838942
Sorry, grandpapa.
>>38838323
Fuck that man, I kinda miss4kids.
>>38838965
No I am sick of this shit.
Little tiny newbies coming on this site fucking everything up
>polluting boards like r9k with feels and other bullshit.
>Screaming that if you so much as watch anime or learn the language you are a weeb.
>Pol is the ultimate source of knowledge and if you don't do what they say you are a cuck
Do some kinderkid shit and fuck off.
>Last episode of Lupin III airs in the U.S.
I'm happy that bluejacket is airing in the U.S. now
>>38838123
homojew lists Will and Grace twice as if anyone cared
>>38839095
I don't do any of those things, and I despise the people that act like that. Relax, old man. I'm on your side. But let's be real here, the majority of animu after 07 is hyper autismo weebshit because the japs figured out what scrapes in cash and shit that out instead of trying to just tell a story.
>>38839386
I got into anime because of the animated adaptations of my favorite Jrpgs aand the like.
If everyone is too young to remember there was a hero drought in 1998 it was so bad that the boys in my classes were talking about how cool rugrats was. Anime was a savior in that sense.
I honestly hate the weeb/moe/slice of life crap....
I enjoyed anime for a few reasons
>more varied heroes
(Monsters,robots,demons dinosaurs,etc.)
>weirder scenarios
>strange special attacks
>strange locations
>interesting battle music
Got a bit pissed, sorry. This place used to be awesome but now its a shadow of it's former self.
>>38839576
I only understand your frustration with the current state of the site a little bit, as back in the old days I just kinda read what people posted for quick laughs after school (and I didn't know how to post), also my memory is fading even though I'm not even 21 yet.
Yeah, I just kinda grew up with animu and my curiosity just kinda led me around, I kinda like the stuff before my time better than the newer stuff (but there are a few diamonds in the rough when it comes to nu-animu, even they the popularity eventually shits them up.), it's just ridiculous what they let out these days, but when I talk like this people just call me a dumb hipster kid faggot.
>>38838123
the good
>generally less stupid shit
>surge
>stuff from the 90's was still pretty mainstream
>internet not as normie
>no smartphones
bad
>9/11 fucked up everything fun
>no endless escape from boredom into phone or whatever
>>38838123
I was 8 in 2006 so i don't know
>>38839668
yeah it was a fun time. internet fads, gags, games , cool stuff.
/ic/ was even competent for good crits.
There are a few cool shows now, but much too many moe girly deals.
Now it's race bait, the supposed enlightened 8, and everyone calling each other normies and losers.
>>38839936
>I 'member when "normalfag" wasn't an insult
Why is everything some fucking contest to be an autistic memeboi now? I hate it.
Whenever I bring it up people act like it doesn't exist, that's how you can tell them apart from the actual autismos.
>>38838123
>jojo didn't have a mainstream anime yet
a better time
>>38840190
>AAAAAAAAAAAAVDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hard to believe they made Polnareff less annoying in the animu. I still hate his faggot ass though, holy fuck I don't know why people like that obnoxious nigger.(Insert /pol/ joke here)
Unlike That 70s show, Malcolm in the middle is one of the few shows that's quality the whole way through
