I got banned on /pol/ for posting this by some faggot climate change and pollution denier mod.
I want to know how anyone can legitimately deny the fact that climate change and widespread pollution exist and are destroying our planet. I was never much of an eco-freak until I went to the beach with a couple friends so I could surf and they could body board. None of us had ever been to this beach before, but we had heard good things.
All of those good things were lies. When we got there, the first thing we saw were multiple pipes which were pumping raw sewage and waste material into the ocean. This was attributing to a build up of muck and waste in the ocean and on the shoreline. Not only this, but there was so much of it that it had created a barrier which broke all the waves coming in. We didn't really know what to think, but decided to walk further down to find a spot where it wasn't as bad.
After walking for about three miles down the shore, we found a spot where people had congregated to swim. This area was, at best, slightly cleaner than the rest of the beach and it was such a small area. The entirety of the beachgoers had congregated here to swim, so there was no room to enjoy the ocean or beach. The muck was still present, and people were swimming in it. They would actually go into it and come out covered in brownish black muck. The waves still weren't coming in because there was still too much waste everywhere.
The entire floor of the ocean was actually covered in the corpses of dead sea life. We were walking on the bodies of fish and crustaceans.
After about three minutes, we couldn't handle the disgusting-ness. I think the best part of the whole experience was that it changed how I thought about the environment forever. The worst part was seeing so many disgusting, ignorant people there, actively ignoring the fact that the Earth was dying right in front of them and swimming in nasty, gross sewage water.
The worst case of pollution I've ever seen.

As for climate change: It would be hard to deny that climate change as a trend is occurring, but different groups can't agree on why it's occurring, or if this occurrence may be due to natural phenomena. I don't really have an opinion on this, just that I do believe corporate entities are working very hard to support their own interests.
