You have two option, find people that already play those games and convince them to play with you and become friends with your charming ways or you can introduce it to your friends, this requires to use your charming to shill the game or the friend in question must really want to hang with you to the point where he doesn't mind picking up new games.

No, sorry. I kind of got sick with shooters in general, which is why i play more strategy stuff now. It's more comfy in the short term but single player campaigns get old after a while.

I mostly rely on meeting people in the games I want to play, or maybe through something like /vg/ as a last resort. Most multiplayer titles that I end up trying are games my friends already play though.
