Hey, really 'bots, I'm curious; do you play your video games as male or female characters?
Do you self insert as a male or female in games that allow character creation or create something that suits you at the time? Or do you have one character theme that transfers between games and platforms?
I personally play as female characters (though I am male) because the options are usually increased, not because of any latent trans-issues. I do tend to make my characters as slooty as the story allows, however.

Most of the time I play as a female. Mostly because they are easier to customize in my opinion. It's easier to make a hot girl than to make a hot guy.

Weird. I play as a guy for the same reason. The beard selection in some games is immense, and I like how hats look on male characters.

Usually I pick a girl and try to make her as waifu material as possible.
If I ever play an MMO again then I'll definitely play a girl just to get handouts from betas.

Depends on the game. On MMORPGs I play a guy, I don't ask for handouts, or want beta orbiters. On almost every other game I play a girl because I've always wanted to be one irl, but I know video games are the closest I'll ever get.

in a singleplayer game i will make a generic self-insert my first playthrough then I will draft up more complex RP characters which may be male or female
in MMOs i can never get immersed in the game world or RP elements so i just make my character look as silly as possible

Depends, especially in RPGs in the first playthrough I usually play as male to selfinsert into the story. Later on when I've downloaded mods I play either male or female depending on mods and my RP that I'm doing with that character
