Panic over how I literally cannot afford to go to uni. My dad expressed his disappointment in me for not getting enough in scholarships to cover my education the other day. But the FAFSAs in and I submitted an SIR assuming at least one or two of the myriad scholarships I applied to would pan out

How much you'll be able to recover depends on what year you're in. If you're a freshman and really stay on top of your shit, you can probably manage to graduate with a good GPA. If you're a senior, you're fucked.

You're fine then. 2.0 is bad and you need to get it up, but you can recover enough to have a decent GPA by graduation. Just make sure to take some GPA boosting classes along with your major. You slacked off first year and that will cost you, but it's entirely possible to recover from.

If you're a lazy fag though, you're fucked. It's physically impossible to be lazy and do well in Chemistry past the first year.

Does not matter most of the time (unless it's an industry that demands high GPA when hiring).
Search for internships. Even if you have to go outside the department internship program. Work anywhere (not super shitty) that will hire you. Don't be too picky, the good stuff comes later in your career. Graduate and be able to demonstrate you've been working. Watch as there is at least one 4.0 GPA who studied his ass off and can't get hired because nobody wants to hire a dude who hasn't worked.
