Nah, just go straight to a Doctor who can refer you to either a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist. Those are the only 3 types of people that can help you get welfare if SPD impacts your ability to actually be normal in regards to working etc. Don't bother going to a therapist who has no legal right to assist in disability impairment.

I have most of the symptoms but I don't lack interest in sexual experiences. I don't have close friends either. I barely ever speak to anyone and when I do I get right to the point and skip small talk. Mostly I just find myself nodding and saying "yeah" when someone is speaking to me until they lose interest and go away. I actually wish I had friends but nobody likes to be around me since I am so robotic

I might have this but honestly depression is probably the more likely cause. Suicidal thoughts/attempts. That said, maybe I just have two things.

If you haven't gone out of your way to get sex by a certain age you lack sexual interest.

The whole idea is that you lack the interest to put forth the requirements in order to get sex, like getting a prostitute, or forcing yourself to meet women.

If you would rather just stay sexless than go through the above and you're in your late 20s, you 100% lack sexual interest.

Just realise that as a schizoid you've normalized something that isn't normal. Everyone eventually breaks and just says "fuck it" and gets a GF or at the very least sex by a certain age (like 30). If you've never truly actively tried and kept at it you don't have an interest in it. Your biology/societal influence may be there telling you to have sex, but it's clearly not strong enough for you to go outo f your way to get it, which means you lack interest in sexual activities with another person (fapping/porn) doesn't count.

These symptoms were definitely more pronounced in me when I was younger (same as my OCD and social/general anxiety and depression and avoidance issues). I don't know if I had/have characteristics of Schizoid PD or Schizotypal PD -- not entirely sure how relevant some of the differences are (like between BPD and rapid-cycling bipolar 2).

I made a 'magical thinking' post for the first time ever earlier tonight, and it felt almost a little too personal, despite sharing my sexual fantasies on here without a problem. My OCD is deeply intertwined with this magical thinking and is incredibly elaborate, but I always thought of it as mere OCD when in actuality, it's probably something like this PD too.

i hate self diagnosis, but i've been searching for answers on why i am the way i am.

everything listed sounds like me. what confirms it for me is that i've had chances to have sex, but i deny it for some reason.

my detachment is getting worse and positively reinforced by homesteaders, survivalists and Alaskan residents. i was born in Alaska, part of me thinks i'm just hearing the call and need to go back.

Solitude is the greatest freedom you can ever grant yourself. Other people are not worth my time, especially in the age of the internet. I don't want to touch anyone or have anyone touch me, and I never feel like I learn anything interesting from interacting with other people.

The key is accepting that other people don't make you happy, and just focusing on other things. I love reading, digital CCGs (used to play real ones, but there's no need to nowadays), cycling, and collage art. My life is great, and that's because I'm the only person in it.

SPD is not depression, it is just a different way of evaluating the value of interpersonal relationships. Never let it get you down, embrace it!

I surely have some schizoid traits (don't care much about other's opinions, have near-0% drive to interact with people, almost everything I enjoy doing is solo activity), but I'm not sure if I would consider myself schizoid, since there exist exceptions to all of these things.

Any actually-diagnosed schizoids that have exceptions to any of their symptoms?

Whatever the case, I'm not sure if I'd really seek any sort of treatment, since I don't really dislike my life for any of those reasons.

I actually have SPD, and on perma autismbux due to the fact it impairs every aspect of life.

To meet the criteria for SPD you don't have to have 100% of the symptoms, it's at least 75% or 80% I think.

Also, not everyone with SPD becomes completely fucked by it, many just go about their life living alone thinking it's normal for them (its not). Most people with SPD never go get help, because they think it's normal and can't understand why other people would care.

For me personally I was NEET for 10+ years because of it, never left the house, not made any friends, not doing anything. I didn't go seek help until it was too late, and I'm already fucked because of it. Will never work or anything.

Most people with SPD seem to be able to at least function at very isolated jobs, but for me even the process of getting said job is impossible.
