The only reason I'm alive is so that I can give my parents a decent life as they get older. I give them a lot of vacations with everything paid for by me for free and fix their garden up for the summer every year. I have no desires or needs of my own, but I can stay alive as long as my parents are content.
It really kills me inside when they ask when they're getting grand children though, I really don't have the gut to tell them that it's never happening, not to mention ever meeting a girl. I'm just thankful that I have siblings to cover that, hopefully.

Emotionally stifled.
They are all Stacey.
They pretty much just leave me alone.
I get the sense that they would like to have a better more open brother/son but they accept that I can't be that way and just try not to put me ill at ease. It often feels like they're walking on eggshells around me. Sometimes I get paranoid that something terrible has happened to me and I'm the only one who doesn't know what it was.

They would like me to be more socially-oriented like they are. They want to be able to ask me to go to the amusement park with them and they want me to say yes of course. They want us to be a happy family they want me to be a stereotypical brother/son who is socially successful and extroverted and happy. They want me to be like them but I'm not and I think they have accepted it and for me that acceptance is really bitter-sweet.

anyone else encouraged by their parents to not date in middleschool and highschool? I think it really fucked me up long term. I just dont understand relationships at all because they wanted me to steer clear of teen pregnancies

It's not like I didn't go because I'm not welcome.
I didn't go because I don't want to go.
I want to want to go. And they would love it. But I don't.

It has gotten to the point where they get absurdly excited if I do the smallest thing. If I asked to go to the park with them they would be overjoyed. Maybe I'm a coward.

It was a mix of discouragement and encouragement coupled with knowing I had already observed female behavior and was aware how girls acted
