You're choosing two quite different paths there.

If you get a PHD expect some issue. The way is troubled, even financially speaking. But at the end of it, You'll have more control over your life, your emotions and your money.

If you choose to work you're going to get what you need and what you want pretty quickly, but later you'll find yourself in more struggles. I mean, later in your life.
I wouln't like to find myself into sticks later. Get the PHD.
