my grandma grew up in bulgaria and one of the sayings she would say to me sounded something like "staros narados", she said it meant something along the lines of "being old is not fun"
could you please clarify the actual saying and what it really means if you can recognize it? would mean a lot to me since my grandma passed on to heaven a few months ago

yeah, it's very common - starost neradost, literally means oldness unhapiness, obviously said by old people because at that age you feel like shit usually. Due to various reasons i don't harbor any love for my grandparents so i can't really relate but if she meant something to you then i am sorry she passed, maybe she is in a better place now.
