i guess i can't come up with any good reason.

climbing into freshly cleaned bedsheets after a shower is one of the comfiest things man can experience

Maybe it's gas instead of water

So your health and immune system doesn't deteriorate. So you don't get an infection. So you can have healthy skin without irritation. So you can continue being comfortable.
You don't even need soap. Just take a quick 5 minute COLD shower, using your hands to rub off any dirtor grime. This way you preserve your body's natural oils, AND you can go longer without having to take another shower, because you don't strip off the good bacteria and oils that your skin needs to stay healthy and smelling good. Soap and hot water is a meme and is one of the biggest reasons people feel like they have to shower twice a day or more, it's ridiculous. Once every other day is fine if you use my method.

You can if you want, but I find it's not quite as refreshing afterwards if you start with warm water.
I usually put it on nearly the coldest setting, and just push myself to get in. It's always a shock for the first few seconds, but if after a few showers you still find yourself unable to adjust after that first 15 seconds, then maybe up the heat just a little.
The point is to not strip your skin's oils and protective layers, and also not to open your pores too much.
