no dude. 8tracks are old as hell.

you just need a computer, torrent something like Ableton, Adobe Audition, or garageband if youre a mac user.

Find some good mics that fit what you need,
usually, you use condenser mics for amp recordings. (only if you want a garage sounding style of guitar, otherwise you need to buy a guitar input, look them up.)

record the mics near your amp and record the mic thats hooked up to your computer.

its a pretty sloppy list of things. if you wanna contact me about this just ask.

the cheapest way would be to buy a 6.3mm to 3.5 adapter. Plug in to your pc and guitar and record with audacity or a daw like fl studio. if you use a daw you can apply effects like distortion, echo, delay, etc via vsts. usually it isnt really noisefree but its really great for that price.

you definitely could, but honestly you'd likely be better off buying an external sound card/audio interface thing and recording to your PC while using a DAW. i got a digital tascam portastudio a while back, and while it's pretty powerful & works well, it's super tedious to use and i haven't gone back since i started using DAWs. also worth considering is the price. i got my 8 track for $200 and that's used. my digital interface, which is a step above what i actually needed, was $200 new. the one below goes for $150, sometimes $100
