I work with a guy who is 55 years old and he isn't even close to being a robot, he's actually rather extroverted but he lives at home with his dad, he constantly has to ask our boss what to do and how despite working here his whole life.
His dad makes all of his doctors appointments for him, gets his car inspected and mows his lawn. If you have a child you should push them to be dependant instead of sheltering them, I think at least half of us here are victims of over-sheltering parents.

This. My mom home schooled me until high school, and I never made any friends. In college, I met a few people who were also home schooled, and we were basically the only "friends" we had.
