I get resentful thinking about how my mother used shout at me over the most pettiest of things (being 5 minutes late to school, not packing my bag an entire 24 hours before a holiday etc.), or my dad not letting me talk to people on MSN Messenger after 11:00pm (I was 17 at the time).

I used to get a lot of shit from my friends growing up because my parents would always embarrass me. The times I had to explain to my friends that my parents banned me from going to parties or how I wasn't allowed outside past 5:00 at 15 still make me cringe.
It wouldn't even piss me off so much if they didn't ask why I have friends.
