Nobody's "too smart" to socialize properly. There are plenty of labels for people who willfully damage their own career prospects by refusing to properly socialize. Smart isn't one of them.

I literally dont fit in. Also understand that in my country im part of a hated minority (worse than niggers in the US). Under normal circumstances one would kill himself or go NEET but I struggled and learned to live alone and Im damn good at it now. Talking to other people is overrated. Most of my hobbies are "single player" anyway like mountainbiking and lifting.

Failure of social ability in terms of career. In a career that centers around interacting with people and being able to leave a good impression on your superiors, social skills are pretty important. Saying you're 'too smart' for it is just a rationalization that helps pad our egos while Chad matches into the nice ortho program because he meshed well in the interviews.

To be honest, I do let my lack of social skills get in my way. I also never make any attempt to improve my social skills. But this started in my childhood where my high IQ caused me not have any friends in the street (all dumb and violent/criminal fucks) and because I went to an expensive school (and I was poor, yet pridefull) I didnt fit in in school either.
Like I said I survived because I compensate lack of social skill with raw competence.
