Why do conservatives always brag about having jobs? Is being a tiny insignificant cog in the machine really so important to them that they take pride in it?
>>
>>38653020
It's the only thing to take pride in when your whole life revolves around it.
>>
>>38653020
They're lazy motherfucks. So lazy that having a job is an achievement for them. The bar is that low for them.
>>
>>38653020
It is better to have a job then be a burden on society taking welfare while not contributing to it.
>>
>>38653020
There's pride in actually being able to provide for yourself by your own merits.
>>
tfw only agree with right wing parties about immigration but would still vote for them solely for that reason which will probably fuck me cuz im neet
>>
Someone find Mike Rowe's wagecuck pledge. That's why. They're authoritycucks and bootlickers. Can't function in society without a big strong man telling them what to do.

I don't even know why they brag about having jobs either, like it's some sort of accomplishment. The Mexicans I work with are hard working as fuck, but they don't run around and tell people they work hard. They just do it, and often for shit pay.
>>
>>38653020
Conservatives brag about the kinds of jobs they have. Usually blue collar, "with muh own two haaaands" kinda jobs.
>>
>>38653054
>take pride in having a shit-tier "all murrican jawb" like trucking
>look down on others for working at mcdonalds
They're just assholes who are as leechy as the welfare niggers. Anyone who is into mainstream politics (99% of all normies) is just another faggot with his hand stretched out ready to receive gibs.
>>
>>38653051
Why live a life doing something you don't enjoy just to be able to have fun decades down the line instead of living off the earnings of those who slave away, living life how you want to?
>>
>>38653051
Maybe society shouldn't create unemployment through the insistence on mediating all transactions with money while not providing enough of it to support a level of aggregate demand consistent with full employment, then.

It's the only thing they have. I don't think they have many hobbies or interests. It doesn't even make sense to say that "they're proud of not being welfare leeches" and so on, because if the whole stereotype about rich or even middle-class liberals is true then there's a huge number of people who have jobs and provide for their families AND don't sit around trying to turn some 9-5 slog into "muh all murcan values."

There are tons of people out there who bust their ass every day, but for some reason only the American republican party wants to sit around and circlejerk with everyone else about it instead of just getting on with their lives.
>>
>>38653020
>Why do conservatives always brag about having jobs?

Is this a joke? Do liberals really lack this much self-awareness? Only you can decide.
>>
Anyone else think it's kinda funny how conservatives bash millennials who get worthless college degrees and can't find jobs but at the same time cry about the plight of blue collar workers whose manufacturing or coal job is being automated, outsourced or phased out?
>>
>>38653020
What I find kinda funny is that they brag about having the type of jobs that are:
1. Physically demanding but a fucking high school dropout brainlet can do them
2. Working in a trade or a union gig that extorts their customers far beyond the fair market value of their labor

I feel for them though. Their lives are shitty enough without unemployment making everything worse.
>>
>>38653020
Unless you're wealthy by some way or another, you're a dumb fag who lives with mommy. If you're fine with living with mommy and being beholden to her rules, there's really nothing I can say to you. You're just a dumb little faggot who lives with mommy and probably sits to pee (so you don't make too much of a mess on the potty for mommy).
>>
>>38653205
>insistence on mediating all transactions with money while not providing enough of i

And I'm sure that accelerating inflation from quantitative easing is gonna come annnnnnnnnnyday now.

Gibsmuhdats are horrible too. I used to be on SSI. Do you enjoy having the government watch every goddamn cent you earn and have them tell you how much you're allowed to own? Does that appeal to you? If so, there's just nothing that can be done with you. You're just fucked if you like that life or view it as superior.
>>
>>38653370
The free market will fix it. Government intervention is the real problem here. The inflation will stop once we stop trying to regulate and control it. Learn some economics.
>>
>>38653370
What your link actually implies is that real wages have stagnated, but you're just someone who parrots a defunct ideology in lieu of understanding anything about the world.
>>
>>38653146
What is shitty about trucking? Seems pretty cool to me. Lots of bros, big engines, comfy late night driving, travel the country, big paycheck, not much talking if you don't want to. I regret going into healthcare sometimes.I wasted two years in school for a job I kind of hate when I could be making just as much with 2 months of school. Truckers are happy making 50k starting. McDonald's employees fuck up orders and just bitch all day that they aren't making $15/hr. They easily could have chosen a real job, but insist on fast food. If they are worth $30k/yr then they would find ajob that pays that much.

Won't the trucking industry be the first to be automated? And cabs?
>>
>>38653419
I like inflation, it is good. What I dislike is stagnation.
>>
>>38653451
>Taking meth to stay awake and make your timetables
>Eating greasy shitty food to save more time
>Having to sit in literally straight hours of traffic
>Sleeping in a cramped bunk in your trunk
>Having wrinkles on only one side of your face because constant sunlight on that side
>Getting into dicey situations like blizzards and severe storms or your truck breaking down in the middle of the fucking desert
>Never seeing your family for months at a time
>Only sexual contact you can find sometimes are gas station lizards, prostitutes too old to even work the ordinary street corner

I'd prefer a comfortable office job over that.
>>
>>38653480
Automation has been a thing since industrialization. I'm sure it will be automated one day, already we have huge chunks of logistics handled by computers. I don't see it happening in the next 10 years, maybe even 20. That's enough to squeeze out a comfy retirement. Even if not, plenty of time to get another job. We all read and have hobbies. It's inevitable that you pick up at least a couple marketable skills just from shit you do for fun. I have a uni dropout buddy who went into trucking. He fucked around with radios and eventually starting selling hobbyist shit related to it. I don't know much about radios but it's that weird shortwave and ham shit. He's really into it, not exactly making a killing but it's a good side hustle. E-commerce will only continue to growing. At this point it's so easy you just sell shit related to what you like and collect the checks.
>>
It's funny because the most conservative people I knew growing up had most of the shit in their life handed to them. There were a couple of guys in my high school social circle that got new cars from their parents, each valued well over 10k. Didn't have to pay insurance, didn't have to pay for gas. Most of them didn't work a day until they finished school. Despite all of this, they would constantly bitch about how liberals and minorities were lazy scum. All of the people who were even slightly left leaning in my social circle all worked constantly throughout high school and had to pay for their own shit.
>>
>>38653451
Sitting on your ass on the same highway for 6 hours isn't any more of a "real job" than flipping burgers for 6 hours is.
>>
>>38653605
I noticed the same thing. The most conservative circle in my school who went on and on about HARD WURK and REAL JAWBS was also the richest one. They wore camo every single day and orange hunting hats and drove new pickup trucks. Their father owned some big landscaping company. I ended up working with their company a few years after high school and of course it's 90% Mexicans, but the kids get all the money and get to play at being working class even though they live in some 3 story fancy house in one of the richest neighborhoods in the state.

They sound like rednecks more than working class. I've seen the same shit. Not poor people living paycheck to paycheck like you tried to describe(?), but middle class people who own businesses and enjoy redneck shit. Self made men. Seems like the way to go really. Liberals are kind of shitty. I'd rather live in the woods and kill animals for fun, making an honest living more than living in the city and whining about the rethuglicans and blaming racists for my lack of ambition.
>>
>>38653739
Who do you think Rowe voted for?
>>
>>38653772
your straw man of liberals is kind of shitty yes

but surely you realize that like 0.5% of liberals are actually like that
>>
>>38653828
I'd still rather play with the rednecks than liberals. I don't want to be poor or live in a city.

It's not all bad, but still doesn't compare to living in the country if you're rich. What can you even do in the city? Shoot the gun off your back porch and the cops come. Fuck around on the ATV and the cops come. Make a small campfire and the cops come. Do nothing but sit on the front porch in your boxers while drinking whiskey and the cops come. You don't even have the pretty plants and animals to make up for all the shitty cops. Worst of all, there are usually other people living within 50 acres of your place. Being packed so close like that you can probably hear them.

seems like a lot of posters haven't experienced the actual work force. Most blue collar jobs are demanding at entry level, but completely contradict the "social revolution" narrative via upward mobility.

All of this socialist strife in the US is doomed to end in basement dwelling. We invented socioeconomic mobility.

The average American Blue Collar worker will likely fit the definition of bourgeois at some point in their career. Most of America will fight in the streets before giving up the ability to incorporate and pass on accumulated wealth to their kids.

Shopping at flagship luxury department stores
Rubbing shoulders with the other rich and famous
Enjoying incredible views of the triumph of man, incredible skylines, living in the clouds, looking down on the mere peasants
Go drinking, rail lines of good quality cocaine, and enjoying a new woman every night
Go kayaking in the East River
Go jogging in Central Park in the morning like its your own backyard
Eat at a good restaurant for every cuisine imaginable

A country estate on top of that would also be fucking cash as fuck

Human beings feel an inherent desire of belonging, having a place in the world. When they do, they feel fulfilled, like they know what their purpose is, and they're happy that way.

I don't see a reason to tell them otherwise, don't disturb their happiness.

Looks like we still have city slickers beat in terms of quality of life. At least it's cheaper I guess. Less maintenance too, just run a little push mower over the 5m of yard instead of hopping on the tractor to bush hog everything.

This is truly my favorite part about city living. Country life is fun but holy fuck nothing beats the endless culinary options of the big city.

Ah yes, of course, the degenerate burg.

Life is too short for moralfaggotry. If you like being a bumboy, go ahead and be a bumboy. I'm not gonna judge someone for trying to live their one life on this earth the way they want to.

>>38654255
I'll concede this: fresh country air, fresh healthy food, living the rustic lifestyle with 21st century technology, and the wide open space are pretty nice.
I'd rather live in the city for work and to be close to friends and family still, but I definitely wouldn't mind having a mountain cabin, beach house, or country home.
