Why are most milennials manchildren?
>>
Rent and mortgage is unaffordable,

There's no incentive to make it work. All together it paints a shitty scenario and the best way to cope is just to chill.

were gen-xers and baby boomers manchildren in their 20s?

because you can't get a house, car, pay bills, raise a kid and support a wife while working part time at a department store/fast food restaurant and if you want to go into a trade you have to take on thousands of dollars in debt for a change that you "may" get a job that is not even guaranteed.

This.

Also because men have no incentive to be productive without a wife/family.

>many raised in broken homes (single mothers, divorced parents, etc.)
>most were very coddled as children regardless
>hypergamy, strengthened by social media and the normalization of promiscuity, means that the incentive of sex and love isn't available to most young men
>relating to this, readily available porn further took away the sexual incentive for productivity and self-improvement
>the anti-bullying school culture led to them being unwilling or unable to stand up for themselves, especially physically, and if they did stand up for themselves, they were punished
>black thug culture, which values hedonism, violence and resistance to productivity, was further normalized through media and fashion trends.

There are no options. You could always give up and join the military though. I make more as an e3 student at subschool (married) than i did working my ass off in the private sector.
with all allotments included, i make 44k with free medical and dental, first day of boot. If i nab top of the class which looks likely, ill get e4 and a pay raise along with it.

If youre a robot, become a submariner, nuke or not. Youll fit in.
easiest job ive ever had too.

Not a homophone, but I'm thoroughly against them raising kids.
>>
Alot of factors really. The job market hasnt been as kind to many, price inflation and a lack of a liveable wage, teens and young adults raised with mentality that things will just be given to them, factor in poor decisions and poor hindsight and prospects for a good future, having a plan B, much less a plan C, add to that how much social media and entertainment of the like sucks up a persons productivity and you have a mix of different flavors of failures.

>>38641698
>Internet usage, unregulated by parents, took up the time other generations used to explore, read, learn and socialize
Don't tell me you didn't read forums and such online. It might not have been Shakespeare but it was something.
>pedophile craze meant kids didn't just go outside like they used to
A severely overlooked reason. There was so much paranoia about pedophiles lurking around every corner waiting to rape your kid to death that parents were scared to let their kids play outside.

we aren't really free, are we? that's why people keep asking this, isn't it?

it's like a slave owner after the civil war watching all his black slaves run off the property, with nothing he can do about it.
the manchildren are the slaves, the slave owner is society.

before we were manchildren we were just slaves, contributing to communities.
the more freedom we accrue, the more people are bothered by our emancipation.

it's becoming so blatant.

False.
Gen x was raised by television.
>>
It's a lot harder to get started than it was the last few generations where they could find work in their field and actually move up. I graduated three years ago and basically got really crafty into keeping myself afloat. I finally have a place I can afford, a gf, and I work regularly in a field I find rewarding. Pretty much everyone else I know is one the verge of giving up because they don't try thinking outside the box of what they expected to do after school.
>>
just speaking for myself here sorry for the blogpost
parents never taught me anything, never talked to me personally or did anything they didnt feel obligated to do
if i was being bad they just fucking smacked me or swore at me without ever teaching me why the thing i did was wrong
dad has an extremely short temper, would always have me help fix stuff on the house but would just call me a retard or something 10 minutes in i would basically stand there and do nothing
as soon as mom gets home from work she would just watch tv and do nothing else
first childhood friend i brought over dad would sometimes yell at friend so i just figured it'd be best to go to their houses. Dad gets mad about using gas so i just stopped going to friends houses all together, which eventually just stopped me from looking for friends.

A lot of parents don't really take into account that you actually have to teach your kid about life and not leave it up to the system.

The more I think about it, the more I want to legally ruin society even worse if/when I get some level of influence. Not just for personal gain, but to make this experience worse for the next generation.

Pretty much, there is bound to be a collapse though.Whatever is a world war, beta uprising or a simply economic recession every finger will be pointed at us as some sort of boogeyman because muh normies and roasties can't do wrong.

>>38641560
no reason to sacrifice yourself for women either because men don't have authority over the family or marriage. the wife can leave you because of no fault divorce and take everything from you including your children in feminist courts. everyone who works in family court is a feminist and they hate men. the court will make you bend over, spread your butt cheeks and put it in with no lucubration.the courts don't give a fuck if you kill yourself after they take everything from you.
>>
They have nothing to work towards.
>>
>>38641698
This is pretty spot on, actually. For the reasons you listed there's not much of an incentive to grow up for a lot of people unless they have particularly good parents. Various movements have sort of tried to reclaim this, and I guess your best bet is to stumble across somebody or something that makes you wake the fuck up.

why bother
I work part time at a target within walking distance and in a nice area, I have a good roomate and make enough to pay bills + pocket a little every month. why piss away the best years of my life at college so that I can maybe be able to afford a house in 20 years

Internet tv and videogames plus nerdculture kept them into things that most previous generations grew out of as children in favor of more adult actiivives like work and booze.

Capeshit has always been around, but in the 40s or 50s you'd buy your weekly Superman comic read it within 10 minutes, then have to go outside and do something else.

These days you can get Superman for hours through tv netflix digital comic subscriptions and thus it sticks with you longer in life.

Most previous generations were so eager to work because there wasn't much else to do with their time.

>Most previous generations were so eager to work because there wasn't much else to do with their time

Don't forget there also was plenty of room for jobs in the past that didn't require a college degree and three years of experience at a minimum, and that you could sustain more than just yourself with the amount of money you were earning.
>>
>>38643319

This is all true, but honestly the biggest thing for past generations was there just wasn't anything else to do but be a normie.

Nobody sat around at home like robots because then you'd just sit at home, drink and maybe listen to the radio.

Men liked working because it kept them away from being nagged by their wife or annoyed by their kids
