Tbh I only play f2p shitheaps like planetside 2 and path of exile so I'm out of touch.

If you don't mind old games, try arcanum, baldurs gate 2 and icewind dale 2.

I think citybuilders are max comfy, banished is ok but pharaoh is probably the best I've played.
