Oh god. Have any of you ever been to even a community college history class on America? Everything is about money. Rich landowners in the South are the ones who were in control of America since it's founding. By the time the Civil War hit, they were still very involved in the government. Outlawing of slavery would have decreased their profits. They may have said that it was for "states rights" but it was more to keep their lifestyle.
