Here is why.

You have one of the largest communities in the world. There is no such thing as an average reddit user. It's like saying average internet user.

Then you have an upvote system where only the most popular opinions and posts actually reach visibility (nobody scrolls down to read comment 1000).

So what you see on reddit is basically the most common opinions of the general population.

It's like you're reading the world's facebook feed but can only see the shit that has the most likes.

reddit is only good for smaller subs with niche interests.
