>"Anon, you don't need a lot of money for a high end gaming PC. There are plenty of good builds you can get for less than $850!"
>"Anon, you bought a gaming PC, but where's your Dragonfly DAC USB, cherry mx keyboard, expensive speakers, large mouse pad, e-sports approved wired mouse, and headset with detachable cord?!"
>"Anon, don't bother getting a gaming PC if you're not willing to spend more than $2,000 for a proper set up!"
One of my coworkers at Starbucks has a $700 car note and no other job, you can easily save up that much working a meni job if that's what you genuinely want.

If they're really saying that shit to you, they're not the ones you wanna PC game with.
A Discord group helped me build mine for around 960, and they've never said anything like the second or third statement.
Find some decent PCbros. We exist.

>budget $400 computer running even latest games just well on medium settings
>cheap $15 keyboard+mouse package
>decent quality $40 stereo headset
>free cushioned comfy chair and old oak desk from my grandparents
I think I'm doing just fine, thanks. None of that shit matters unless you like showing off and you have people to show it off to as well.
If you're poorer, get an i3 or i5 processor and a gtx750ti video card and you're all set for quite a while.

Out of everything you listed, only a decent mouse and larger mousepad make a notable difference.
So long as whatever else you have isn't complete shit, the other things provode only small improvments that are really only justified by people that like to invest in their hobby or are at the highest level of skill.
But please, don't let that stop you from complaining.
>spent 1200 on near top tier PC
>spent 80 on mouse and headset, don't even use mousepad
You're projecting.
All the good games came out around the early 00s with a few exceptions.
I upgraded so I could play XIV with a few of my friends, but other than XIV the only game that really pushes my build is overwatch.

NEET, I have everything but the DAC, including a 144Hz monitor and DXRacer chair.
you don't need any of it to have fun playing games and be successful at a competitive level, its only when you really want to start pushing for the best of the best esports tier and by that time you would have picked up sponsors anyway.
