From what I heard, the Japanese are interested, even as far as paying people, to live on their minor outlying islands. I'm not sure what the stance of the Japanese government is towards it, but the islands/towns themselves are practically begging people to come and live, and even pay them to.

Don't have a degree or skills but I have been learning Japanese and I figure I'll go out to the countryside somewhere and find a manual labor job.
