Stage pianists? Bedroom guitarists? FL Studio? Robots, if you have a hand in creating music or are trying to learn, come in here to tell us about it or show some work.
Been dicking around with fl studio for the past three months but it's mostly crap. I bought an interface and a mic and when they arrive I'm finally gonna start making good stuff.
classically trained professional symphony violinist. slightly child prodigy slightly not. trying to learn FL Studio for shits and giggles. Pop drums are hard. some things come really naturally and some things are wildly different from classical to pop music

Bass player in a small town in the religious belt, hispanic heavy region literally no musicians even near me but I found a fellow musician and he's a pretty dedicated drummer, worships john bonnom , and rightfully so lead zepplin was a pretty talented band until Bonnom past away. But me personally I feel as though I take after progressive bassist's. Any how me and him started a "band" and have gone over several guitarist, one just ghosted us after we wanted to try an improvised jam to put in our live set list, though I'm sorta glad this happened sooner then later, as it was bound to happen. So that's what's on the top of my head atm.
Going to put my 2 weeks in at my ft job so I can focus on studying music. Tired of feeling too tired that i feel like sleeping when i get home. Part time is fine but full time i have time for nothing but wagecuckery.
I play guitar, I try to play classical stuff but I was never trained outside of highschool lessons. I do alright technically but could never preform against a proper classical guitarist, and my theory is very lacking compared to how long I've played.
>guitarist and bassist
>not super great but can play along to most songs and know a bit of theory from piano classes I've taken
>trying to bust into songwriting
>too scared that I'll never write as well as my heroes to write lyrics
>all the instrumentals feels like they're missing something
I play piano and bass. Currently using fl studio too, to work on an album. I want to make it sound like the simpsons hit and run soundtrack. Might post it on /r9k/ when it's done. I've been on /mu/ a lot to get some tips on making music.
i make a lot of hip hop beats on fl studio, but dont know any rappers and they're not strong enough to release as instrumental hip hop so they just gather dust on my laptop
>says plays an instrument, probably more than one
>phrase to stun conscious non-musicians
>excuses himself for not having achieved X
>mentions decline in life
not that it would be of interest but some of us actually still feel a tiny little bit of sadness when yammering
been playing for about 8 years now. but only active in about 3, so basically 3 years.
i exclusively play acoustic/classical now. i feel like im learning more when my guitar is not artificially amplified.

Been messing around with fl studio for years. Still can't really use it. Nothing I make sounds anything like in my head. Also every vst or sample pack I find sounds like ass.
I've had an idea of doing an /r9k/-inspired neet life concept album for the last year. Done 0 work on it.

This.
The only tutorials and help guides for fl studio are for making rap beats or trap music, which is not what I want to do
>>38538188
Aye, anyone prod? I mostly make plunderphonics, IDM, ambient, noise, or dnb. Recently been working more with synthesizers and I'm still bad at it, also switched over from FL to Renoise and it's been a nice transition. Ideas come a lot more fluid in Renoise I've found.\

Just keep experimenting and do what comes naturally. People get too hung up on how to mix and master a song and never create any original ideas. Once you push through the fact you're having a hard time learning and just practice what you've learned instead you'll slowly be able to create the music you want to create. And sometimes replicating something from your mind and it doesn't turn out how you want can be a good thing. I feel the best ideas just come naturally as your work. Just keep working on it. What are you stuck on?

Really good stuff here, thank you for sharing, I'll keep listening.
Torrented logic x a few months ago and have been making loads of music. Mostly drum and bass and electro style stuff. Been really happy with the way my stuff has been sounding recently and my friend has been giving me loads of tips on logic.
Need to find work so I can afford a synthesiser or some midi controllers
Today i am laying down some tracks, recording them all by myself in my ghetto apartment using nothing but a simple peavey mic, a tiny laney amp and audacity. oh and of course my guitars and the new yamaha electric drum set i recently invested in which has been a really nice addition to my studio, if i can call it that.

I used to play the flute from when I was 6 to when I was 15 or so.
Then I started playing the bass guitar, till my 18th birthday.
Then I got bored.
Nowdays, from time to time I play anime openings with my harmonica.
But I've never written anything.
Can anyone recommend me some cheap classical guitars with cutaways, or acoustics that are good for portability?

what about telling them what you like and ask them to try it with you? you making it too easy for yourself, you're never going to find anyone with exactly your taste

i like composing music mostly, and play guitar and sing too. i make all sorts of non-genre-specific music... my SC right now is mostly MIDI realizations of classical piano pieces. i take my music really seriously but don't ever expect anything to come of it. there's like 100000000 musicians out there vying for attention and even if i ever got the chance to go professional i probably wouldn't because it seems like a miserable and uncertain job

Its never to late, friend. Go buy a guitar for 200-500 bucks on amazoni know you have the money, you only spend it on cheap booze, comic books and video gamesand google "how to play guitar", or "guitar chords" and go learn your favourite song
Bought a cheap guitar a week ago and try to learn by using justinguitar.
I've been practising every day since and hopefully I won't stop.

I learned piano as a kid (dropped it because it was "too hard" i was a dumb fuck), and i still play viola (some kind of cello). I want to buy a guitar, that s true, but whatever i ve tried to create is utterly shit, and i always end up deleting the files or burning the sheets i wrote.
I fucking hate it, even if i could do something i consider decent it would be shit compared to 90 % of what people do, and even then it won t fix any of my other issues.

I have a mexican standard fender strat, its white on black and it's my baby. I mostly lay down some rhythm using a loop pedal and then improvise over it with pentatonic scales. I've been playing linoleum by nofx recently, easy, but decent song. Would like to start songwriting but i'll probably write shitty lyrics.
I've been thinking of getting a bass when i have some money. Is it easy to get into with the skills learned from guitar or is it much different?

Godspeed, friend.

>been learning guitar for 3 weeks
>can practically play all basic chords/any chord involving index, middle, or ring finger perfectly.
>my pinky is very weak/unflexible
I don't know anons. I could play a C, G, and Dm chord, which are supposedly "stretchy" chords perfectly from first try, but I'm struggling with anything involving my pinky. My pinky sort of bends inwards I think that has something to do with it. Do I have any hope?
I'm a bedroom guitarist with no friends and no one to help me produce. What's the cheapest, best software to simply upload my guitar tracks onto and layer and add vocals/bass parts? Something like Logic Pro but for PC
>>38549484
Dodging your question to ask if you can also quickly change between the chords or did you literally only learn how to play them?

I can quickly switch between A, E, D, Am, Em, Dm, G, C, F7, G7, C7, D7, E7 (the none-pinky version) and A7. Still practicing other chords.
