I go to Notre Dame. I thought that there would be a lot of other big brain wojaks like me because not many people get in, but when I got there, I realized that it's mostly wealthy Chad & Stacy from the suburbs of Chicago. I hear so much rich people bullshit:
>oh, I think I might just pop down to Hawaii for spring break, might just buy some plane tickets and go
>my parents have a condo that they stay at for football games, and I have the keys. come over and get wasted with us, anon! ($300,000 condo that you use six weekends a year -- not to mention the airfare that it takes to get to South Bend)
Rich people frustrate me jfc
I get about 2/3 of my tuition paid for by fin aid and outside scholarships, and I'm still going to graduate with 30k debt

I kind of found my niche group of people last year, but here's to hoping I can make more friends this year
>>
I attend a satellite of Purdue because I'm a brainlet.
>>
>>38537451

>>38537617
Lol accounting is not a robot degree. Your job offer depends on you not being socially inept.

Major/year?
Junior CoE but my body is not ready for the coming semester
>>
>>38537487
>>38537523

I'm still very Catholic, and I grew up that way, so there's that aspect.

Also, I'm in the business school, and the starting salary for my major is 70k. That's 20k higher than what it would have been had I gone to my state school

I think that the educational quality, the amenities, the food, and the campus are all really great. I just thought that more of the kids would be more unique, interesting, and smart. Unfortunately, if your parents are big donors, it's a free pass to admission

And yeah, UT has an awesome business school, as well

>>38537576
Look at the starting salaries for top undergrad business schools, and you won't be telling me that it's a meme degree. Also tired of the stereotype that robots can't be interested in business -- sure, social skills are important, and a lot of us are lacking in that department, but it's all about your skills and what makes you valuable to a company. Robots can make themselves valuable, even if they are robots

Fair enough. I'm an IT major, and I'm passionate about it -- I'm studying for a certification that deals with programming routers and switches, subnetting, NAT, and a lot of other fun stuff. I like to take things apart and figure out why they don't work, and I want to work as an IT consultant that travels internationally when I get out of school. So I'm not bored with what I'm doing

If I was a Finance major, though, or a Management Consulting major (I have a friend who is actually studying this), I would be bored out of my brain, but I respect people who choose that path because it's great money

University of Nevada, Reno checking in. The school literally sees you as nothing more than a paycheck unless you're here to be a doctor, mining engineer, or an athlete. They just spent an absurd amount of money to build Chads a new gym that's a giant eyesore and blocks what used to be a nice view of the campus from the road even though we already have a gym on campus. I'm majoring in microbiology and the department is so pants on head retarded it's insane. They hired a new teacher who was completely awful and taught the intro microbiology course at graduate school level and students filed multiple complaints to the department about him throughout the semester. Instead of fixing the problem and throwing him out on the street where he belongs they made him an academic advisor for the department and now he teaches more classes. Seriously considering changing majors if I ever have to take a class with him again. The school has some good teachers but they're far and few between.

Even the courses i dont care about force me to work very hard or else i lose my scholarships and i work on a corn farm for the rest of my days. that type of shit will put a fire under your ass. also i dont sleep anymore except on weekends and if i happen to have less work than usual.

McGill student here.

In my junior year I got to a really dark place where I didn't give a fuck and I just did a bunch of acid and other stuff and didn't think about academics at all. However, after one too many "incidents" I realized I had to clean up my act for my senior year, which I did. I still did (and still do) want to blow my brains out, but I've turned that into motivation - sure I want to kill myself, but I want to die being remembered as someone who accomplished something. So I work hard to see that through, so that one day I can pull the trigger of the shotgun in peace.

>inb4 McGill isn't prestigious hurrsurr

I'm only here for my bachelor's and I intend on studying somewhere better, probably in the states, for my law degree.

Our campus is unspeakably ugly and full of niggers and roaches, but the surrounding nature, the acommodations and the classes are quite good, atleast for a public uni.

It's only worth it if you have a specific plan or reason for doing so. Otherwise, there's no reason to not just enjoy high school and go to a normal college.

It's probably better than NEETdom or utter wageslavery, but I only did it because there's specific things I want to do that require attending a top university. I completely missed out on prime teen pussy/young relationships, teenage developmental steps, experiences, high school parties, drugs, etc.

Computer engineering is like a mix of cs and electrical engineering. Kinda a meme degree but it's a cool field of study and you can do a variety of jobs with it so meh

No, getting an A was very difficult for sciences, let alone an A*

At least from what I hear it is a very prestigious university. I don't believe it's as hard to get in as Cambridge or Oxford, but you still need to work your ass off.

Just research more about it and find out what they require from you. I'm already at university so I never bothered to look up for these sort of places.

Hey I'm studying at Kent. You don't need to be a genius at all to get in but the university itself is very good and is considered one of the best in a lot of subject areas.

As awesome as Imperial would be, you do have to be realistic about what you can achieve, and use that to find another, more suitable place for you

Two most notable things were

He was COMPLETELY unaware he was good at maths or physics. He got the highest grade in his GCSEs for maths/physics at 11 (normally 16) and A levels at 13 (normally 18). When he got asked what he wanted to do when he grew up he said bin lorry driver and chef.

Once he came in the top 100 in a global maths competition, was called up on stage to collect his certificate and shoved it straight in his bag since he didn't realise what an achievement it was. Literally too autistic to realise that he'd beaten millions of other people who trained for it 24/7.

He was also notable for being completely retarded in every other way and needed help doing basic stuff like crossing the road. Mental age he acted similar to a 12 yo when he was 18.

I probably will in the Spring. After I flunked out of CS, I don't have a real reason to go to uni. There's nothing there that I want to study for and I figured I'd give CS a try even though my history with math is mental retard tier (I failed almost every math course from elementary to high school) but I had an interest in it so I gave it a try.

That didn't go so well. Now I'm stuck in limbo because I don't know any major I want to get into and I don't want to fail Pre Calc again. I have a feeling I'll be working at Taco Bell in my future.

50 years ago I'm pretty sure I would be classified as mentally retarded given my pathetic academic history.

If you can't do math but are still interested in working with computers go along the certification route to becoming a network engineer / other type of IT engineer / technician. It's not as great as being a developer but hell it's better than TacoBell.
Start with something like CompTia A+ then move your way up, the math needed is pretty much limited to basic multiplication and powers of numbers e.g 2^2 when calculating thr number of hosts on a subnet or something simple like that.

Computer Engineering. Apparently the masters programs are all poo in loos. Well it's more than apparent since the building is covered in them during later hours. Software engineering is even worse in that regard.

Having always lived around San Jose I'm used to that not majority white thing. It's surprisingly mostly beaners and different flavors of Asian. Mostly Viet. But a lot of poos and chinks in better off areas.

I'm Asian like half of the school is.
>>38537822
It makes me want to kill myself. Some of the harder projects are literally hundreds of hours long, even in groups (fuck CS 162 and 164). Average test scores are like 40%. I averaged 50% and get Bs. Which doesn't seem so bad until you realize that you have to study weeks in advance just to get that much. Once, I didn't study, and got 10%. Oh, and the midterms are hours long. Homework takes forever to finish and are worth nothing basically. Theory-based classes are brutal, too (looking at you, 170 series).

It doesn't help that some of the undergrad classes are literally graduate level at other schools. I just wanted a comfy college experience and all I got was endless studying.

>>38537943
>Guess you just weren't cut out for it or something?
I have a 3.4 GPA, which is above average. I'm just sick of living this way. UCR isn't that bad, though. You'll do fine.

I'm almost done with my degree. Just desperately hoping all of this is worth it and I didn't just waste the supposedly "best 4 years of my life." And I hope I'm not too emotionally broken to even work in industry after this. I've already had panic attacks and breakdowns in interviews before.

The worst thing is that, while I work hard, there are those who put in 1/4 the effort and time I do, and end up with better grades. The same people I have to carry in group projects end up scoring higher than me in midterms AND get better internships and full time positions. It's just so discouraging.

I go to QUT. It's okay I guess. I get Commonwealth Supported Placement (CSP) so it only costs me $8000 a year. Plus they pay me NEETbux and scholarships for being poor so I end up getting way more money than this is costing me.

As an omega male (white) with a sub 3.9 GPA, that career path doesn't exist for people like me (if it ever did). Have you looked at law firm webpages and recruitment materials? They all make a big deal about wanting more women, mystery meat people, and LGBTQs.

I tried out for an UNPAID internship with my local public defender's office recently and got trashed. No idea what to do next because most law offices want you to be enrolled in school while interning. I don't really want to go back to school.

Nah I'm from Bucks Co and I'm here all summer because i was an idiot and didn't sign up for summer classes in time. As for housing, I'm in Boquet this year because a friend got a ridiculously low lottery number and apartment hunting was fruitless. Plus my sister has a place on 5th that I might be able to snipe once she graduates this year.

>>38552431
If you can carry out those friendships that's great, but don't be surprised or upset if you fall out of contact with the people you met there. If you're in a dorm, your best bet is to get to know the people on your floor or, at the very least, some of the people from your classes.

I don't know much about the campus desu. I just went to class and left quickly each day pretty much. Is that a dorm I'm guessing?

Did anyone here start at a community college and transfer to university?
>>
>>38555842
Bucks County, i dunno if you live in state but if you heard about that Cosmo Dinardo guy killing 4 kids like a week ago it's like the biggest thing to happen in weeks. Country immediately northeast of Philadelphia.

And Bouquet is like university-owned apartments, considered the best on campus housing you can get because you get private rooms + a kitchen and a living area. I take it you're from Pittsburgh then? Do you commute?
>>
>>38556060
I'm transferring this fall, I wasn't about to pay for four years of uni
>>
>>38556060
>Did anyone here start at a community college and transfer to university?
This is honestly a much better idea than actually going directly to uni if you live in California or another state with a solid CC program
>>
>>38556069
I'm from a small town about 30miles south of there called Monessen. Its a small nigger infested shithole that's currently suffering a heroin epidemic. So if you wanna tour a 3rd world country go check it out.

I'm in florida atm but when I was there I lived in shadyside and took the bus in and I plan on doing the same thing when I go back this spring. Either shadyside or bloomfield for sure.

Transferring can save you money, but if you are slow to warm up to a new campus, then you probably wont make any friends or network effectively at the CC you attend, or at the univesity you transfer to.

Go to Tennessee, faggot. You can get into community college free there, and then transfer to a four-year college using the Tennessee Transfer Pathway.

It's also colder, cheaper, and you have mountains and shit.

USC junior here, transferred from a CC this year.

I would recommend Santa Monica or Pasadena. I went to a CC near Long Beach and you really get an unsavory crowd of academics if you catch my drift. CC's are geared toward transferring students to UC's so you should do well. I did 2 years at CC after high school and the time just flew by, and I learned a ton. Network with the professors if you can, they may know someone at UCB, it helped me get into USC.

Oh shit I didn't even realize there were others here, for orientation you'll be sharing a room with someone but you won't be there long enough to really know them instead you'll be forced into small groups which you'll tour the campus and do some forced awkward socialization events with. Occasionally you'll do some shitty large group activities with the whole orientation session such as dancing, being dragged to apogee to here how great sports are and eventually learning the school song. You'll also likely be forced to watch a play on how all men are rapists and women are always the victim and how even if both are drunk it's still the guys responsibility and he'll be the one serving time if she regrets it in the morning (I've been told they've toned this down though maybe it's more balanced now). On the plus side there will be catered events, hope it's cowboy chicken they have some good shit. On the last day you'll meet with people and probably an advisor from your major and sign up for classes in rounds. This is my fourth year and I have one more to go due to changing majors so I'm pretty well versed in UNT and denton, I might be overly cynical about the whole thing but feel free to ask me anything here or drop a contact if you want to ask shit in the future/want a robot friend on campus.
