Why is it a social rule that men must approach women first?

Goes back to the male being the hunter and provider. But more than half the young women I've been involved with actually sought ME out. So there's something to be said for the laid back "anti-approach"

you sound like a social butterfly whose reputation radius expanded a large amount
i never properly approached women. i've had 4 relationships and am now married. i sometimes wonder if maybe i had been more proactive, maybe i might have banged some hotter ladies, but the relationships that fell into my lap gave me more than enough to process, learn from, and be grateful for. i also rationalized it as my way of not perpetuating lookism.

rule in what way? women give signals and often initiate conversations first. men naturally approach first, that's why they are expected to approach first. why do you think any social pattern exists? why is it a "rule" that children cry when they're in pain?

Because women are cowards that don't know how to take what they want. They prefer coasting through life and accepting various opportunities that are dropped in their laps.
Even though the male side is scarier, I think it's better. It's nice too feel like you're taking control of your life.

Times are changing. Most of the girls I've been with came to me really. Just stand around in a city plaza looking cute or something. It works
