Some parents and people in general are just overprotective of children and society and news cycles give off warped views of how dangerous strangers tend to be.

There was a local story last year where two men just sitting on a bench in a park messing with their phones were accused of being paedos and taking pictures of kids in a playpark at the other end. The police were called, the men were spoken to and their phones checked but of course nothing came of it. However the parent who reported them also took a picture of them and posted it all on social media accusing them of being paedos anyway.

It's pretty worrying all this stuff. When I go out I usually listen to music on my phone, but knowing I could be accused of taking pics of kids if I so much as get the phone out and change a track is quite worrying. Seeing as I'm a social autist I know I've almost got a bullseye on my chest.
