How you lost a friend

Tell me about friendships you have had that are now over. What happened?
>have no friends since leaving high school
>become friends with girl at new job
>she is really friendly and outgoing, doesn't care that I'm shy
>1st person to ever really make an effort to talk with me and hang out
>1st time having what feels like a best friend, the kind that other girls have that talk about dumb girly things
>friends for a year, then things change
>she gets involved in this pyramid selling scheme, talks about it non stop
>trying to sell health supplements/cosmetics
>sinks thousands into it
>tries to get me to 'join'
>Tell her no, I don't like pyramid selling
>she is offended but seems like she is accepted my choice
>a couple of days later she wants to hang out and get lunch
>I go to meet her and when I get there, another girl she is friends with is there, as well as an older female (who I layer discover is her 'mentor')
>feeling confused and scared
>They pull out laptop
>start a PowerPoint presentation about their 'wonderful business opportunity'
>me and the other friend had been tricked into thinking we were having lunch, when in reality it was a shady sales pitch to get us to pay up
>pissed off, tell her I'm not interested, leave
>get facebook message later from her, saying she "couldn't believe I would miss out on this opportunity, do you not like making money or something? If you were smart you would take this chance I'm offering you"
>ghost her from now on
>friendless again

I caught up with her a few months ago. She is done with this now (after loosing thousands) but it just felt weird hanging with her again.
