The more I think about it the more I believe that it's unfair to try and have a relationship and a military career. I was background noise in high school - many acquaintances, few real friends. Definitely no girlfriend. I went to prom alone, danced with some grills, had a few laughs, smoked some weed in the parking lot with a bunch of fellow stones and got small. It was a pretty mediocre time overall, but at least I wasn't the guy who had to take the wheelchair-bound potato to the prom at the command of his parents.
