Still, I have a 'traveler' style jug, so I can stuff it in a pocket. I'd be on the 4wheeler/snowmobile trails in the woods, so nobody would be there to bother me, very little risk of public drunkeness. Besides, the cops around here are pretty chill and lazy, the most they'd do is tell me to go home, since I wouldn't be bothering anyone, just walking my fuzzy little buddy and listening to music in the middle of the woods. Been drinking liquor since I was a mid-teen. Skipped beer, went straight to vodka and whiskey, splitting half gallons with other poor kids, becoming drink buddies but no other friendship bonds besides that. Almost every day since. So, I can fake it pretty well. Went to HS a few times completely shitfaced and made it through the day normally. Then again I never said anything so me being silent was normal and was left alone. Also have some real good reflexes and coordination. Played a game of HS football drunk. got like 4 sacks, 2 fumble causes/recoveries and injured some kid.

I was drinking a fifth every 2 days or so for the past couple of weeks. Got in a bad rut. Then I got sick of vodka and the weed wasn't doing it for me. So I went and got some blow just to see what the fuss was about. It's fun I guess, but definitely overrated. It's too expensive and the effects don't last long enough and the effect isn't that strong to begin with. Although it's different in the sense that it just makes you happy with no other activities required. With weed I have to find something fun to do and the weed enhances it. With alcohol, I just get wasted and do the things I was too afraid to do and then regret it later, like binge eating.

All the blow is finally done now so I can put that behind me. On the plus side, I managed to get a lot of productivity in. I did 3 chapters worth of organic chemistry problems in one night. And I went to the gym and had a nice full body workout. Maybe I'll keep going back to the gym to get a healthier, socially acceptable source of dopamine.

From what I've read of bourbons (and I've become quite the bourbon fanatic recently) there's nothing worthwhile in the $100+ range that's notably better than anything in the $60+ range aside from rare yearly release type stuff and even that's a matter of preference.
I had a glass of Eagle Rare 17 at a bar the other week and it was excellent, but to buy a whole bottle over just getting some Bulleit 10 or regular ER10 or something would be a splurge and I'd probably save it for holidays or other occasion.

As far as daily-drinker well whiskeys go I'd probably be just fine with EW Black but I usually grab either Buffalo Trace or WT101 if I can find it (since my local bourbon selection is unfortunately mediocre).

Does anyone else feels like they want to do something real big, but end up doing nothing? It kind of makes me miss the days I could enjoy simple things, like playing a video game, or reading a book. Nowadays all I see is somone who made something big. If i read a book, if I see a movie all I can think about is how someone could make something so incredible for me to enjoy, yet I can't do something that big. Anyone knows what am I talking about? This feeling is driving me crazy, I wish I could forget about existensialism once for all. Why even do this? For every fifth of good stuff that I go through, I finish off multiple handles of cheap whiskey. Just, a tad rough around the edges and the flavor profile nowhere near as exuberant, which makes it perfect for mixing

IMO, if you're going to get a handle of Evan, get a 750 of Maker's Mark. Sure it won't last as long, but unless you just mix everything with coke, it tastes miles better

Not that anon, but nothing is wrong with Evan. I've heard Evan Williams Bottled in Bond (White Label) is a cut above the Black Label for around the same price, but sadly I can never find the stuff near me to confirm. For the $20-30 range, depending on where you are, check out Buffalo Trace, Maker's Mark or Weller Special Reserve, and Bulleit.
