He got a title shot after beating a rank 8 fighter.

He has received more marketing than any other fighter from the beginning changing his persona naturally to that of an entertainer with the money. The before "60k Dana Woo" Conor was humble and normal compared to the post 60k where Dana White decided to hyper promote him spending millions to do so and Conors persona (fake and copied from fighters like Ali, Tyson, Diaz brothers and Mayweather) started to change.

Marketing and hype because of white privilege gave Conor a huge psychological edge to defeat Jose Aldo.

Next he got another Championship match lined up while holding a belt in another division something that Dana would refuse to do beforehand. This was ridiculous especially since he never defended his belt at 145lbs. That match was canceled and he lost to Diaz who is ranked number 5 in the 155 division bu honestly sucks more than that and has lost a bunch of MMA fights. Conor then rematches and barely wins the 2nd fight with Diaz and gets another title shot in 155 all without ever dfending the 145 belt.

Any other fighter would have been stripped of their belt. He then wins again largely due to pressure built up with a massive marketing campaign that other fighters never have had to deal with before.

Don't get me wrong he's a great fighter but most of his success has been handed to him on a red carpet because of white privilege. If he were to have faced a gauntlet of other fighters like everyone else does to get title shots then he would have lost a long time ago.

Now Conor is fighting Mayweather in boxin isntead of defending the 155lb belt. This too is unheard of and other fighters like Nick and Nate Diaz tried to move into boxing but Dana White blocked it because of the contract but now is allowing Conor to box. Again White privilege.

Countless fighters who were entertaining were held back by Dana White but not Conor.
