I'm not a big fan of black metal in general. I just wasn't expecting Filosofem to sound like it does; it's a lot noisier than I was expecting from a black metal album, which I like because noise rock is possibly my favorite genre (at least a few of my top albums are noise rock anyway, including my all time favorite album).

I certainty wouldn't describe it as aggressive as some of the black metal I've heard, but that's something different.

Varg is a talented guy, no doubt. But like many talented people, he's totally insane, which is entertaining in and of itself.
