Does anyone know what pokemon cards are actually worth?
No. Such a thing is unknowable and will forever remain a mystery to mankind.

Serous replies please I mean I see completely different answers everywhere
Most pokemon cards are worthless because they rotate out.
Cards from any game are worth basically nothing 99% of the time. Things you would think are super rare cost like 10 dollars.
>>38355428
yes Ill pay top dollar for what you have friend
>>38355582
then why are there stuff on ebay like this?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-CHARMELEON-POKEMON-CARD-GREAT-CONDITION-24-102-CHARMANDER-46-102-Base-Set-/122462775956?hash=item1c8359aa94:g:FV4AAOSwBOtY~lGC
>>38355555
How has nobody pointed it out yet?
>>38355428
The price the market will bear my friend, it's just economics!
>>38355777
>>38355555
holy fug these numerals
a lot of fucking money. an original charizard in good condition can fetch a $100
>>38355428
Certain cards used to be worth a lot when Pokemon was hot. Mainly that 1st edition holo Charizard.
These days you won't get much at all for your cards. Fuck I even remember seeing a store honestly trying to sell that holo Charizard for hundreds of dollars. I'm sure they must have sold it to some spoiled kid with that shit.
>>38355787
Really? I have like 5 of them, but I don't think that's true just cause someone is selling it on ebay for that much.
shadowless base set charizard
If they are bought from a starter pack they won't cost much.
>>38355809
it went for about $120 at a local shop near me, 1st edition or not
>>38355428
looking at prices on ebay, they're worthless.
>>38355582
MTG cards are actually worth money but yeah, Pokemon cards are fucking worthless 99% of the time.
>>38355842
Pretty sure the shop I saw it at it was in a nice little case and in plastic for nearly or possibly even 300 dollars.
I remember it being the most sought after card by far.
i played for a while. some cards went for $20-$70 if they were tourney ready. others like rare ones can go for $14-$30
In general stuff from older sets isn't worth too much
lots of supply with not a ton of demand, it would seem
>>38355871
why is it that some of them are listed for $500 and others $5
>>38355428
Old common/uncommon pokemon cards are worth like $0.50-$2 in mint condition. Rares are $1-$40ish depending on the card.
>>38355753
People are retards who use alt accounts to shill their listings. You will not get more than a few dollars for that card. There are fucking hundreds of thousands of them. A good condition Charizard from base set is worth about $40-50 at most, you might get a few hundred for a gem mint graded one.
The most valuable cards in PTCG are stuff like Shining Charizard and Shining Espeon from the old advanced era sets, those run $100-$250. But most PTCG cards don't break the $10 mark.

well shit that's stupid
thanks though

inb4 "fuck off to reddit fag"
no, u
>>38356038
why in the hell do people do that?
>>38355428
I use that exact card for a book mark.
>>38355428
Most of them are only worth the memories
I wish my parents stopped me from buying pokemon cards with my allowance. I could have saved over 5k bucks growing up if I didn't buy any cards
>>38357066
no one to blame but yourself.
>>38356365
Hoping they'll get a retard to bite by shilling extremely overpriced listings to the top when if you go one page back you can find the card for pennies.
http://pokemonprices.com/card_price/Charmeleon
Look how many people are trying to sell this shit card for hundreds of dollars when you can get a graded first edition mint for $16 and anything below that is like $0.30.
>>38357157
I'm not blaming anyone I just wish they would have stopped me
>>38357315
no self control. that's why you're on robot. SAD!
>>38357361
stop projecting. I loved doing it as a kid and it wasn't until now that I realized it would have been great to have money saved up. self control was no part of any of this
>>38355428
Ask away, smart autist who collects Yu Gi Oh and Pokemon for a living here.
The real reply is it depends how it's graded. Charmeleon is near worthless sadly.
>>38357066
It's a good way of teaching you about money. Now you'll never do that again.
