best advice is to not worry about it too much, and keep it casual and friendly. and that if it doesnt work out it doesnt say anything about you as a person, just that its not the right time to date this particular girl. just relax and dont stress about it, you will be fine no matter what happens

the very first time it was "hey, you wanna go get dinner this friday? i hear the cuban place at (location) is really good!" when we started dating for real i told her she was my best friend and i love spending time with her, and that i had romantic feelings for her. i was nervous but it was kind of obvious she felt the same way about me, it was just a matter of me actually telling her how i felt
